BattleTechWiki: Fanon Purge announced

Following user consensus, the BattleTechWiki at Sarna.net will no longer publish Fanon (fan fiction stories, custom designs, etc.), in order to become a more reliable and useful resource.
Existing Fanon content will be migrated to the BattleTech Fanon Wiki by the BTW admins and deleted on BTW by 01 October 2011. Nothing will be lost; everything gets transferred to BTFW before it is deleted on BTW.
If you have published custom designs, house rules, essays or fan fiction over at BTW then you might want to drop over and help in making it a smooth transition.

No, it doesn't.
The Fanon Purge (or Fanon move) was limited to the wiki section, and does not affect the forums.
The rationale behind the action was that people use the wiki for research and (unmarked) fanfic would obfuscate the matter and be unhelpful, as it could be mistaken for canonical/apocryphal/official information. This, in turn, was deemed detrimental to the usefulness of the wiki, and led to the decision to remove the fan fiction pages.
This rationale does not apply to the forums, where fan fiction is easily recognizable for what it is.
