Strike
      #163837 - 02/08/12 08:34 PM (218.186.8.11)

With the recent nerfs that makes it almost impossible to maintain large empires, I propose a producer's strike. The game is simple, to show noobie what will happen in the future without large empires. All current producers will not put up anything onto the market (Quick sales direct to factionmates/allies are fine). Lets see how long it takes before the market dries up and there will be nothing left for the newbies.

Anyone agrees with the strike? I will be taking down my items off the market and destroying my current mines.

Destroying mines sounds bad. Since they are not being spawned at all?

Mines when destroyed stop producing but still are there. Just need to recommission them once this strike is over.

yes, "decommision mines" is probably a better term. . .

I'll be glad to do this once the vechs I have on the market sell. . . I can't take them off, need to get below the 10k limit

scrap some of the vehicles.. more then a few tanks sell movement parts for more then the tanks, such as hunters and strikers. This combined with making the one city empires would really throw sm for a loop.
One problem i do have is the people that are truely new. They need to get into chat to get the items they need. But then with the way things are going right now, it would be better to have them leave before getting completely frustrated.

Yes, as someone has said the only way to win is not to play.

You cant scrap stored vehicles, I wish you could, like towers. Only alternative is to commsion and scrap. If you put them in recycling, they just get destroyed.

So not only am I totally screwed for income, I have no way of getting it back. No possible way can I sell all my vehicles. No one in their right mind will purchase them. To be honest, my only option is the recycle bin. Billions just gone, not that anyone cares...

suggest making a new empire and selling the vehicles to them, then abandon it. people have done it for years, and that doesnt break the rules if you buy/sell for the market value.

Yeah, well except it will take real life YEARS to make the cash I need to buy them all. Although I plan on doing it in the future (building crap empires) there is no way I can sell all my vehicles within the next few months.

I for one am at the 5 emp limit. However until shortly before SM bought the game I had never heard nor read anything about not having more than one high level emp. The only thing I ever heard was you could not have a third over level 7. I have 2 level 12's. I suspect SM has purposely sabotaged them.

Until the alledged "building bug" my worker/pop ratio was perfect. This empire made just under 30 million a nev day before market sales.

Empire Summary

Total Population: 4,374,692
Number of zones: 18621
Total land area: 167,589 km2
Total annual income: $ 50,991,618,033
Total annual cost: $ (53,623,406,686)

Total annual profit: $ (-2,631,788,653)

Empire Income (per game day)

Income loss is listed in parentheses and in red.

Tax Income $ 46,131,480
Commerce Income 70,956,260
Morale Income Adjustment 224,329
Alliance Costs (27,390)
Administrative Overhead (62,244,330)
Mines (11,600,000)
Mineral Stockpiles (1,875,522)
Mobilization Costs (0)
Military Supply (556,900)
Military Maintenance (70,123,000)
Training Costs (0)

Daily Net Cash Flow Subtotal: $ (-29,115,073)

Daily average of past Nevyear:
Average Daily Market Sales 22,390,994
Transfer Money Sent (486,301)

Daily Net Cash Flow: $ (-7,210,380)
Allowances (20,000,000)

After spending days and days correcting population I found that SM's "fix" was a crock. Things grow worse daily and I believe it to be intentional. I have put on the market every unit that isn't commed. Today I logged on and over a dozen mines ran dry. I don't think I will be around much longer, and certainly won't be producing any new units.

Our admin ShadowMaster owns at least one producing empire which could easily fill any low tech orders (Geckos, Jeeps, Guardians, Hunters, etc.) coming from any new players which might show up occasionally.

Or ShadowMaster could simply let NASI drop light vehicles and or let NASI drop some light Mechs more frequently to help fill any demand generated by new players.

Of course for everything else there would be DP only options.

Just some food for thought ...

Have a nice day / night.

Sure he can do that, but then what would be the point then of having a player driven economy? Going to convert my factories to comms once i get enough money >.<
