I haven't been able to run "quests" - the browser completes (doesn't 'hang'), but will not continue.

the initial load of the combat map, but not continue past that without major lag has been an issue with me for a while. You wait a long while only to find out you missed the movement phase, then miss a fire phase, and continues like that.
Still have not found out WHY it does that. Wanna say its something to do with internet explorer, but sometimes wonder.

You may be correct in that assumption. If you are a tool bar or add-on junky, it is quite possible. I use IE 8. I reset it to defaults, disabled all add-ons and toolbars and it has been far better.
