Another bright idea about training:

I just spent 6 hours of my own time watching the training set up very carefully. I set an alarm and went through three training cycles on very high in a level 11 and level 2 to see what happens and catalouge it. Here are the results that matter:
In the level 11: I saw many more skilldowns than skillups. This was obviously going to happen. However, I saw mechs that have 4 multis listed skill UP in their mech skills. 1 was -1 went to 0 in pilot. 1 was -1 went to 0 in gunnery. 1 was 2 went to 3 in gunnery. 1 was 3 went to 4 in pilot. The SAME mech went from 1 to 2 in pilot. In the tank department: I saw several tanks improve their driver from 2 to 1. I saw several tanks lose a point of gunnery from 3 to 4. In a specific tower: I 4 multied him about a year ago because of his location and weapon package. He has skilled up since the new system from 0 to 3 in gunnery.
If you lose skill, your BV adjusts accordingly and instantly. If you gain skill, your BV does not adjust until you go to units by type, pick a unit type, and then sort it out first by BV and then by skill. At that point, BV matches the new skill. Also, I found about 6k BV by simply doing pilot swaps.
In the level 2: A 4 multied pilot went from 0 pilot to 1 pilot back to 0 pilot. A GRD II gained a point of drive from 6 to 5, but lost a point of skill from 4 to 5.
In conclusion: The cash charged does not work properly. BV vs skill change does not work properly. Mulltis are not being properly accounted for.
The answer? Turn it off.
Turn it off and take away the costs until it can be fixed. Make only skilldowns from war work until you can get the training program fixed. Call Randy, ship him $50 via paypal, and have him talk you through the sequence to turn it off. At the next Code Fest, have it fixed. It will take away a LOT of the angst in the player base.
