Thank you to all that played. Thanx to Frue, Gunner, for dropping there lvl 13s in to help pump the pot I had alot of fun and the cost to us 13s is nothing compared to the thrill of colition building and mech fights. By the way thank you SM for adding TP of 10 points per kill and for making it a strictly mech affair. I appreicate that as im sure everyone does.

The current Free For All Pot: $ 34,921,955,037
The pot has YET to be cleared...
I have left the ALL Mech / 10 TP bonus for EVERY KILL turned on and will leave it on until that pot finally gets drained.
As Chet pointed out, his L13 [along with Frui and Gunner] entered the FFA multiple times, adding an additional $5 billion back into the pot every time!
So when you take a $100B starter pot, and keep adding $5B here and there...its gonna take a while to drain the pot!
See you all in there!

OK so the pot was finally drained!
For those of you who where able to get into the FFA from 4/8 to 4/13...
What did you think about the changes that where made?
What changes should be made permanently to the FFA to keep it interesting?
What other changes or suggestions do you have about the FFA?

don;t base skills on empire size, and make sure the skills are better than they used to be, dropping into the ffa with 5 level 2 empires in it all lobbing **** at each other at 5/5 or worse is pathetic, especially when some level 9 jumps in and gets a 3/3 mech and just ruins everyone else there.

It would be great to have a limit on how bad your skills can be such as nothing worse than 5/5. It was really nice to have a substantial reward per kill.

How is you asking for player input now any different from the many times before when you asked for player input, said it was valuable, but quietly disregarded everything to either implement your own ideas straight from your little black book you wrote when you were a month old noob, or instead asked Randy to design a system for you? What does it matter what your players think given your history of nodding and smiling, but immediately data dumping anything we say.

[...] What other changes or suggestions do you have about the FFA?
How about NonPlayerCharacter (NPC) 'incursions' in the FFA?
Simply spawn some pirate infantry platoons, e.g. in wooded areas and or sinkholes of the FFA map.
The more dense the wooded area / the deeper the sinkhole - the higher the chance to get ambushed by some AI pirate infantry platoon(s) in the FFA.
Additional benefit: makes excessive FFA 'wood hugging' / 'sinkhole hugging' much more dangerous ...
Why AI pirate infantry platoons (NPCs) in the FFA?
Various reasons, easy to identify (simple friend / foe recognition): if it's infantry then it must be AI pirates because any player characters in the FFA would spawn in vehicles or Mechs.
Pirate infantry in the FFA would be fragile / vulnerable (= a managable / 'win'-able task / 'challenge' for almost any player controlled unit, even the weakest anti infantry vehicles, usually driven by low level empires (including _real_ noobs), should be able to score some hits and or kills / TPs vs. AI pirate infantry in the FFA = fun / entertainment / 'victory' at lower empire levels).
Players could rightfully complain if being forced to use / control infantry in the FFA but the AI won't complain.
Random pirate infantry ambushes in the FFA should discourage excessive 'wood hugging' / 'parking' of Mechs in wooded hexes and or sinkholes, particularly if the FFA code kept track of 'parking' (non moving) units and 'parking' units would attract pirate infantry ambushes after some time (e.g. several turns of inactivity), which should help with eliminating move-critted units as well and encourage players to finish off move-critted units as soon as possible instead of leaving them behind as 'canned' easy rep for other empires (e.g. a higher level empire which wants to gain rep fast to drain the FFA pot).
Infantry AI movement should be rather simple to (re)code - if needed (Infantry AI movement removed or still part of the game code?).
Just some food for thought ...
Have a nice day / night.

ShadowMaster, you are completely incapable of implementing any changes, so why does it matter what we think?

Infantry AI is still there, as are the units. Jump into a training battle and you'll still find them there.

i like it as all mechs and also that you get 10 tp per kill
gives me more incentive to throw larger empires in which inturn increases the pot
