2 years, gone...

I just realized I had joined 2 years ago today.
While I would still consider myself a 'newbie' in Nev (I still have yet to engage in REAL mech-vs-mech combat, ANY player-vs-player combat short of the FFA, nor have I done any HD attacks, heck - I haven't even had the chance to *manufacture* anything, or "mine" resources) - I've learnt about as much as I have by N00B island, and also from SM, CBTGOD, and a few others... so, thanks to you all.
Seeing that it HAS been two years, it's occurred to me that - even though I knew well in advance that a game like this would take years to develop an empire to something significant - I need to focus on a few important real-life matters, with an occasional NEV break in-between.... I'll still be around. I still intend on playing NEV, in as much as it can be "played".
While I had far more hope and excitement for Nev back then, is it possible that we're better off now, than we were then? If in the very least for some of yous guys, new games are on the horizon.

Hey NSN 
I did, get ganked, actually; With my main empire, I had built up to plenty of research, a small army, and by around EmpireLevel3, was hit by 2 empires owned by the same player. I lost nearly everything. It took me over a (REAL)year to build back up to enough BV to be able to re-take three of the cities I had lost.
lol so - my success is actually from being too stubborn to give up...........
