just stumbled upon the following thread at mmorpg.com:
"Darkfall: Unholy Wars - Aventurine "gets it". I wish all MMO devs did."

If you wade through some of the fanboy-ism you might discover a few more thought provoking posts which might trigger some Neveron related déjà vu feelings:

Without having seen or experienced a fully 'finished' and or polished product (Darkfall: Unholy Wars) yet it should still be safe to say that it looks like "Darkfall: Unholy Wars" is heading the same direction like its predecessor, "Darkfall".
Personally I'm already expecting game (design) history to repeat itself, you know, same lead designer / developer, probably largely the same team as well, same direction (focus on full loot, open world PVP) and therefore oretty much the same game design / player archetype / community related issues to expect.
Predicting an overhyped start with extremely high (= impossible to meet) expectations from the playerbase, rapid early growth during the PvP honeymoon phase, rapidly shrinking playerbase once the 'prey' (= the casual players) starts to realize that they are - once again - nothing but fodder for a selected few hardcore PvP-ers - and finally the remaining selected few complaining about an empty world / server and a lack of PvP targets / victims - with the hardcore elite already waiting for - and or heading for - the next promised land with full loot, open world PVP and lots of fresh meat for the grinder ...
Just some food for thought ...
Have a nice day / night.
