------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The need for a strong anti-infantry vehicle with offensive capabilities
was realized during the battles against the Warlords. In many conflicts,
especially urban combat, infantry could render smaller vehicles inoperative.
To solve this problem, MatherTechno Inc. introduced the T-10 Vulcan.
This vehicle reached the front line during the fighting on Delois, where
it earned a reputation as a tough urban fighting machine. Its flamer system,
machine gun, and heavy armor performed effectively against infantry. The
autocannon system was originally designed as an anti-'Mech system, but served
well in city fighting.

==Capabilities:==
The Vulcan's weaponry systems include the reliable Armstrong autocannon.
Though introduced as an anti-'Mech measure, it was used more as an
anti-building measure when more and more Vulcans found themselves stationed in
city areas.
The Vulcan's armor is not very strong, but does provide more than ample
protection against most smaller weapons. This vehicle is rarely assigned
without some larger support unit in an all-out fight. As the actual alignment
of the vehicle is narrow and difficult to target, it is difficult to hit in
combat.

==Variants:==
The most common variant is the T-10A, which replaces the Armstrong
autocannon with slightly more armor and several Randell medium lasers. This
version is used mostly by the Dai-Shun faction in the Vondor Imperium.

???

The Vulcan is an anti-infantry battlemech not an anti-infantry tracked vehicle.

I'm confused at what your designing here.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

I designed it as a tank, and kept the same concept for the tank that the mech had. It works out quite well for both.

I ran the cost of your tank and came up with 1,356,250 and not 1,300,250. I ran the numbers 3 times and came up with the same result each time. Now my numbers could be off if there was a rule change that I am not aware of.

By dropping just a half a ton of armor I could drop the weight of the tank to 35 tons bringing the cost of the tank to 1,088,438 or 80.25% of your tank. For the most part I did nothing to really decrees the fighting ability of the tank.

If I dropped one of the medium lasers, two of the heat sinks and .15 tons of cargo I can add a ton of armor and a second machine gun to the front of the tank and bring the weight of the tank down to 30 tons. I would bring the cost of the tank down to 837,525 C-Bills or 61.75% the cost of your tank. Granted I dropped the tanks anti-mech fighting ability but I increased the anti-infantry ability of the tank.

Now if I dropped the speed down to 5/8 I can drop the weight and cost even a great deal more. A speed of 5/8 is not all that bad since most level 1 mechs have a speed of 4/6.

Bringing the weight of the tank down to 20 tons with a speed of 5/8 dropping one of the medium lasers, two of the heat sinks, two tons of armor and .25 tons of cargo I can bring the cost down to 441,100 C-Bills or 32.52% of the cost of your tank. Granted this changes the tank a great deal but its still quite affective anti-infantry fighting tank with a passable anti-mech fighting ability. Personally I would drop the flamer for two machine guns. Whats the point of taking or defending a city that is burning down around you? I left the flamer because its a hallmark of the Vulcan battlemech.

The vehicle is built in HMVEE if you can figure out where the cost issue is I am sure it can be passed on to Rick.

Your variants and other takes are indeed interesting and I could see them as possible prototypes or spin off vehicles.

Well if the modifier is correct something costing 40k is missing. I am guessing that your program missed the internal structure. But that is just a guess on my part. It could be anything.
