Total Warfare nerfed the Pulse Laser/TC combo ... And a fast jump jet capable mech with ER Large Lasers or ER PPC's will probably take it out.

And user made mechs aren't tournament legal for CGL approved and sponsored tournaments...so the mech is nerfed from the start...now for NON-official tournaments aka the ones run at conventions without any support of CGL and allow user made mechs, far and few there of those type of game at a convention, I dare say it's nerfed because another min-max player would arrive with their uber and take it out.

You missed the point. The legality of custom 'Mechs in official tournments wasn't the issue although there is always the possibility of a rules change... I think your blanket statement of any custom 'Mech taking out the Ultimate Tournament 'Mech is absurd, given you don't know what the other custom design is

Which leds to the point of folks abusing loop holes in the rules or building a mech that is nothing but alpha strike after alpha strike which takes the fun out the game. And your wording lends to the idea that you think a tournament allows player made mechs, when it does not. So perhaps you might want to reword your statement to be less board in coverage.

There is NO ultimate tournament mechs since different things come into play from terrain, to the player themselves, to luck of the dice, to the P/G of the pilot, to how well versed in tactical thinking the player is and how calm they stay if they happen to lose their uber weapon(s) and then you are forgetting that tournaments have time limits.

So no my blanket statement stands, a player built mech will 8 times out 10 beat the book mechs since the player that wants to win all the time will min-max their creation versus the canon mechs which are built to be average for the most part with a few golden eggs here or there, because the BT universe is suppose to be average and normal as far as mechs etc...go. Other wise it would be a one shot one kill game system.

Well ... though it is kinda a munchkin mech... whats wrong with putting it out there...

I'd rather see the munchy mechs so that ... it brings up the point that maybe the rules have too many loopholes... rather than tell someone his mech is "just wrong".

There is a continious grade of what defines a munchy mech. One illegale mech is great to one player and hated by another.

Why not just start a tournament with design rules and see what comes up. Or worse use canon mechs like the Clint IIC 2 and have everyone rain on your parade.

Still a munchy mech ATN... but glad you put your design out there. Let me know if you want to test it.
