One question, just like my Overlord carrier, where or how are any of the Clans or Inner Sphere powers going to find the pilots for that many fighters? The answer is simple they won't. So again we have two ships that have a huge issue in that while the rules allow them to be built, the game universe can not support them.

Is the launch door limit still 8? I knew the limit for doors was 33 for a 2.5 million ton Warship but didn't know the launch door limit still applied. Oh well...

That represents a one dimensional line of thinking. If you can't think of a reason for a particular design in a gaming universe, that's a failure in thinking/writing and not the design. The reason doesn't have to be perfect as none of the canon ones are either. You can debate the probability of custom stuff ending up in the Battletech Universe but you can do the same with the canon stuff. Not all the canon stuff is probable or makes sense

No it's not a failure in thinking on the part of the designer. If you are going to build something that no rational thinking in universe character or power would even consider then you are being munchy and using the rules to win at all cost.
Canon stuff is balanced enough to allow for anyone using it to either win through luck or by being a better tactical player, nothing is so lop sided like some of the user made designs which min-max things for winning only. Show me something in the canon designs that can end the game short of nukes being tossed around like water, show us all one canon design that can not be countered in some way by another canon design or element with the canon universe. I really doubt you can find one.
