==Overview:==
The Cyclone Infantry Fighting Vehicle harkens back to the days of Terran
Hegemony before long before the concept of a two legged walking tank was put
to paper. Designed to carry and support a squad of infantry into battle, the
combination of its impressive speed, armament, and fire power coupled with its
cost and ease of maintance has allowed it to maintain far longer then the
initinal expected combat service of just a few decades.

==Capabilities:==
The Cyclone IFV is capable of speed of upto 129.6 km/h, allowing it to quickly
deploy its squad of infantry on the battlefield. Seven and a half tons of
armor provide fair protection for its crew and undismounted soldiers.

Its armament is quite impressive; while not strong enough to penetrate most
armor, it is very effective in an anti-infantry role. Eight machine guns, four
turret mounted and one mounted on each side of the hull allow the Cyclone to
bring a minimum of 5 guns against any infantry threats that come into range.
This has earned the vehicle the nickname "Whirl Wind of Death", as often
overzealous Cyclone crews have been known to simply speed around an enemy
infantry unit and gunn it down to the last man. This terrible act has also
been known to draw friendly against the Cyclone from more sympathetic allies
to stop the carnage. For anti-vehicle firepower, a single SRM-4 is mounted on
the roof of the turret.

==Variants:==
There are a number of variants of the basic Cyclone IFV. The four most common
are modifications to fit the various roles. The -02 model removes the infantry
bay, upgrading the SRM to a -6 rack and adding two more of armor, mostly to
the turret, sides and front.

The -03 model, more commonly seen as the "Whirl Wind of Death", also removes
infantry bay and SRM to further enchance its anti-infantry role with 2 more
additional turret mounted and 1 more front mounted machine guns. The ammo is
increased to 400 rounds and armor beefed up to 11 tons. It is commonly used on
worlds that do not often see enemy units bigger then a tank (Battlemechs are
rarely seen and almost considered a myth.)

The -04 model is a direvitive of the -03, replacing 2 of the turret mounted
guns with vehicle flamers supplied by 2 tons of ammo. The machine gun ammo
compliment is only 300 rounds and the armor protection is 10 tons.

The -05 model is an upgrade utilizing newer technology resurfacing in the
Inner Sphere. Much of the old stigma is gone from the new version in part with
the removal of the machine gun system. Instead, it is designed with the focus
as an infantry carrier and incorporates new features to enhance crew and cargo
survivalbility. The armor has been upgraded to ferro-fiberous armor. Two
turret AMS systems, supplied by two tons of ammo, provide a means of missile
protection and CASE protects against ammo explosions. A single SRM-6 enchanced
with Artemis IV provides some fire power.

The -07 model, redesignated as the Cyclone Infantry Transport, removes the
SRM-6 of the -05. Instead, a Guardian ECM is installed and another ton of AMS
ammo is added, along with .15 tons of cargo bay storage. The armor is upgraded
to 10 tons of ferro-fiberous. This variant has gotten high remarks from the
soldiers its carried for its excellent protection value and is often used as
mobile HQ for commanding officers.

Excellent fluff. Gives the vehicle a lot of character and color.
