------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ==Overview:== The Awesome is is considered one of the most feared battlemechs since the Succession Wars and the Clan Invasion. Technicron Manufacturing, on the Free Worlds League planet of Savannah, is producing two new upgrades of their venerable design to cater to the favorable needs of each half of the Federated Suns Commonwealth. The design is inspired by a retrofitted Awesome briefly seen in a music vid of "Thunder & Lightening" by musical pop sensation Mitch Jaeger, lead vocalist and founding member of the "The Tumbling Boulders". The sell of AWS-14Q1s and AWE-14Q2s has stalled, pending a court trial between Mr. Jaeger and the Federated Commonwealth, over the trademark rights of Mr. Jaeger's name in the use of the FedCom's Jaegermech series of mechs.
==Capabilities:== The new -14Q series of Awesome uses new technologies to help combat the range advantage of the Clans. While slower then the other newer Awesome designs, the use of a standard fusion over an XL variant gives this design more battlefield survivability and reduced cost.
The -14Q1 is aimed at buyers in the Lyran half of the Commonwealth, favoring the twin PPCs set up found mounted in the original. The right arm features an Imperator Dragon Fire Gauss Rifle, not a weapon-mix one would expect to find on an Awesome. With a smaller heat curve, the -14Q1 features only 16 double heat sinks. The feed tonnage is used to supply the Gauss Rifle with 24 rounds of ammunition for combat longevity and Magna Mk. II medium laser on the left arm for additional defense.
The -14Q2 is for FedSuns buyers, featuring a reverse set up of the Lyran model. Twin Gauss Rifles are installed on the side torso, with a single Magna Sunspot ER PPC in the right arm. To achieve a similar combat performance as the Q1, the gauss rifles are supplied with 5 tons of ammo. To mount this heavier weapons set up, the Q2 only uses 10 double heat sinks and requires an endo steel frame.

Something I was dinking around with when looking at the 60/65-ton 2-Gauss mechs and those 100-ton 3-Gauss mechs. I was aimming for an 80-85 ton 3 Gauss Rifle mech, but lacked tonnage and ended with low armor, slow speed, or poor secondary armament. These two turned out nicely when I dropped my requirement of the 3rd Gauss Rifle.

I can see both giving not only Inner Sphere forces a run for their money but being a pain in the neck for Clan forces as well.
