------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The CCAF commissioned Hellespont Mechworks to produce a new battlemech capable
of providing electronic warfare capabilities at the lance or company level,
freeing up Ravens for more important missions at the battalion or division
level. With an emphasis on cost effectiveness and survivability, the Crow does
not have the full capabilities of the Raven, but does have more flexibility in
other mission objectives besides reconnaissance.

==Capabilities:==
Compared to the capabilities of the Raven, the Crow would seem inferior except
it does have its own defining characteristics. The mech is powered by an
standard 175 Omni fusion engine, allowing the mech to reach speeds of up to 86.4
km/h and providing more survivability. Protection is provided by six tons of
Hellespont Lite ferro-fiberous armor and CASE to protect against ammo
explosions. An endo steel frame is used to lighten the chassis. Finally, the
Crow is equipped with hand and arm actuators, unlike the Raven

The electronics package is lighter then the Raven, but enough to support a
Crow's fell lance or company mates. The Apple Churchhill 2000 targeting and
tracking system is tied into a Hellespont Interrogator Beagle Ace Probe, allow
the mech to scout for hidden enemies, especially in urban combat areas. An
Apple Churchill 442x TAG mounted in the head allows the Crow to spot for Arrow
IV artillery. Originally, technicians had tried installing a Narc Beacon
system as well, but found it went against the Crow's mission to provide broad
Ewar support to a basic combat unit.

The weapons armament is quite impressive as well. The primary weaponry is a
Sian/Ceres Harpoon 6 SRM and Holly-4 SRM mounted in the left torso can provide
a withering barrage of fire than can make a heavy mech think twice about
engaging it at close range. The Magna 400P medium pulse laser on the right arm
provides additional in close defense. As an after thought, a LFN Lindblad
Machine Gun was installed on left arm to provide anti-infantry defense. A LFN
Lindblad Shotgun AMS fixed on high on the right torso provides protection
from incoming missile defense.

==Variants:==
There are several variants, mostly custom variants dependent on the buyer of
the Crow and the mech's assignment in a lance/company.

The DCMS (CRO-K2) often removes the TAG unit or (CRO-K3) downgrades the laser
to a standard model to add a C3 Slave.

The FedCom (CRO-F3) has a more drastic refit, exchanging the machine gun and
SRM-6 for a flamer and Narc Beacon. The pulse laser is replaced with 2
standard medium lasers to make up for the lose of fire power. With a general
reduction in ammo, all ammunition is moved to the right torso and one CASE
unit is replaced with additional armor.

Mercenary (CRO-L2A) units have replaced the machine gun with an additional
Lindblad Shotgun AMS and half a ton more ammo for additional defense.

==Deployment==
The Crow is highly adaptable to a wide range of combat missions, from
reconnaissance and spotting, to urban combat and even anti-infantry and
anti-vehicle combat, as well as has some moderate success against the Clan's
Elemental battle armor.

Eh, I was trying for an Urbanmech replacement and came up with this instead. Overall, I like how it turned out, despite not having jump jets. Just have to except the trade off for more firepower and EW capability.

This would be a good replacement for the Urbanmech for fighting in confined places. Out in open land it would fall to better armed mechs of its weight class that carry a large laser or a PPC. The only real problem in city fighting is its lack of jump jets.

You might want to down grade the SRM-6 to a SRM-4 and drop the extra tone of SRM ammo so you can have four jump jets.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

I was a Major *pain* before
But I got a promotion.
I am now a General *pain*
Yay for promotions!!!

Not really feasible with endo steel and ferro-fiberous armor, as well as 3 heat sinks. The design is already tighter then prom queen and football team in a clown car, with only 1 open slot left. And the design is not really intended for just urban combat, but can function in an urban setting, supporting a slower heavier design.

Reminds me of the Lighting recon/ECM mech I came up with. I will dig it up and post it. Excellent fluff again it sells the mech.
