------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The Lowlander was inspired as an economical model for exporta outside the
Star League after the success of StarCorps Industries Highlander series. Quite
similar in design and profile as its heavier brother, the Lowlander gives up
firepower and armor for slightly more ground speed. Despite being a full 25
tons lighter, it is just as adapt urban defense and proving support combat.

==Capabilities:==
The Lowlander is able to cruise up to 64.8 km/h, but retains the same jump
capability, but less likely to cause damage to the trrain around the liftoff
point due to its lighter weight. Twelve tons of armor provide adequite
defense.

Much like the Highlander, many Mechwarriors still atempt to perform Death
from Above maneuvers. Unfornately, a "Lowlander Burial is not quite as
impressive as when performed by the Highlander.

The primary weapon of the Lowlander is a simple Mydron Model B Autocannon/10,
deadly at to medium ranges. Backing up the autocannon is a Holly LRM-5 to
give the mech some long range and Holly SRM-4 for short range punch. 2
Martell Medium Lasers mounted in the torso round out the armament. Propoents
of the mech pointout it has an advantage of a larger ammo supply over the
Highlander in a prolonged engagement.

==Battle History:==
The Star League was quite happy to add the Lowlander to its rosters, often
pairing two with a Highlander and another mech capable of long range
firepower. A good lance could use the terrain and maneuverability of the
'landers (along with the similar profiles) to throw opponents off guard.

==Variants:==
The LWN-743 is a Star League army upgrade. By removing two heatsinks but
upgrading the coolant system to double strength and utilizing an
endo-steel frame, an additional jumpjet is installed in the center torso.
Artemis IV's are mounted to both missile racks and the medium lasers are
upgraded to pulse technology. The autocannon is upgraded to an LB-X varienty
and CASE is installed to protect from ammo explosions. This refit has been
found to have increased accuracy potential and endurance over the -742 model.

I was bored and came up with a lighter Highlander... it also didn't help I watched a corny Highlander movie as well.

The fluff is good, mech looks decent and comparable to the "low tech" Highlander in the revised 3025TRO.
