Hello
------------------------------------------------- Firstly, apologies if this is posted in the wrong area, or if this question has already been asked. I had a quick look around the forum and couldn.t find anything, but if I missed it, please feel free to point me in the right direction. -------------------------------------------------
I've been playing battletech: total warfare, but haven't had much luck with getting players locally, because of the complexity of the rules and the time it takes to play a 10k-15k BV2 game.
Therefore I've been looking at playing with the new Alpha strike rules, but I've got a question about the Unit cards, that I'm hoping I can get an answer here.
According to the Alpha Strike rulebook, "For the conversion rules, players will find the rules in Strategic Operations (see pp. 355-381, SO)"
The section thus referenced is called "CONVERTING BT ELEMENTS TO BATTLEFORCE"
I haven't had a chance to read the entire Alpha strike rulebook, or this section of the SO rulebook, but from what I can tell this section will let be convert my record sheets to unit cards. My worry is that I might make a mistake, so I was looking around DriveThroughRPG and found unt card downloads for 3039, 3050, 3055 and 3060
http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?...m=&pto=&x=0&y=0
The description for these books state they are for "using the Quick-Strike Rules set found in Strategic Operations, or can be used as reference cards for games using the BattleForce rules set found in the same core rulebook."
My questions is, before I spend £15 to £20 on getting these 4 books, are these the unit cards I need for Alpha strike. As far as I'm able to tell they are, especially since from what I can tell Alpha strike is just the official printing of Quick Strike, but I was hoping to get some confirmation from someone who has actually played Alpha strike.
Thanks for any help you are able to provide

In case anyone comes looking for an answer to this question, I figured it out.
The Alpha strike and Quick strike cards are basically the same, QS just doesn't show the unit type, and it lists 2 movement values, the second of which is the one used for Alpha strike.
More importantly, the alpha strike cards are all on Catalysts own Master unit list site: http://www.masterunitlist.info/
Also, one user sent me a useful link for a Battletech forum with a section for Alpha Strike: http://bg.battletech.com/forums/
