Game and Gears have launched their new transparent hexgrid overlay to go on top of their battle boards, specifically for BattleTech.
Search for them on Kickstarter.

are they copyrighted? is kickstarter selling them? you will need to watch for that, since it is illegal to reproduce and distribute copyrighted materials. Don't want anyone getting into trouble for it.

The grids are currently available as an add-on to the Games and Gears Battle Board Kickstarter. Not sure that the hexgrids do need to be copyrighted as they are just hexgrids, that can be used for the BattleTech game. So I don't see anyone getting into trouble for this. However, I don't claim to be any kind of legal wizkid so please correct me if I'm wrong.
Something you all might be interested in though are a few pictures that they have posted from one of their other backers to show how the BattleTech stuff might look on the boards.

Only a few hours to go. If you haven't pledged yet, now is your chance before the Kickstarter ends. There are still rewards available, lots of designs unlocked and only one stretch goal yet to be unlocked.
Remember, Christmas is a time of giving and receiving. So get on the Kickstarter, give what you can (it all counts, from £1 - £1000) and we'll all receive some fantastic Battle Boards to play our games on!
