Don't know why, but it looks like an anti guerilla type boat. Patrol rivers and marshes to take out rebels and such. Might be the lack of water bound combat in most campaigns.
The infantry is probably jump infantry with keeping with that style.

But I could see it being an 'escort' vessel on peaceful worlds. Token threat to keep pirates away from shipping lines.

Though I do have to ask. Does it have a loss of efficiency if firing all weapons? A 2 man crew seems odd for all sides. Or does the infantry use the guns while onboard?

Some of the drawbacks to BT and how crew is configured for vehicles and related items. I would say the MGs are similar to the current CROWS systems aka remote operated. But as I said I did have fluff for this one and I thought I posted it. Unless I put it with a different posting. Not the first time that I have done that.
