I would ditch a lot of that armor because Artillery pieces should not come under a great amount of fire. And if they do they are toast anyways. If you add another 10 tons of ammo it will be able to stay in the fight three times as long.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.
I was a Major *pain* before
But I got a promotion.
I am now a General *pain*
Yay for promotions!!!

The base chassis is the same as the first Kershaw I posted, the idea being use the same hull with minor changes and go forward from there. Also there would be an ammo carrier supplying this vehicle and its' lancemates with ammo once the on board bins are empty.

But it is not a conventional artillery piece. It is a self propelled gun. It is a bigger and easier to spot target and in this case slow.
And as Karagin says it is basically a field mod of sorts. Taking time to strip out armor from the vehicle makes no sense from a technical standpoint.

could be the begining of omni vehicles for the innersphere. It is definately long overdue. But using the same chasis for several different configurations could be good. Lowers cost by not having to build a new body for every varient.
Though the armor/ammo comment makes sense. Maybe use the same chasis and build the support units for this one.
