Im thinking 2 alacorns would be less money and make more noise. They are faster, have 3 gauss rifles on them. If not for a technicality, this unit would not be able to move up hills or on anything but a road.
Might be worth it to drop some armor and put on more weapons. Still dont see it being used in combat except as a limited mobility tower thing.

Might be worth it to not exist?
I cannot imagine that a road could support it in reality.

It might be useful to assault fixed positions if you don't have anything more sensible to use.
Otherwise the enemy Just draws it into broken terrain with anything that moves faster than a man on a bicycle and watches it suffer ...

What could carry it? And why would it need to be built? And folks want to argue over the HVAC tank that has more use then this thing.

If you want to chose between two really bad designs. Yes, yours is the better of the two, but not by much.
As for me I would pick something entirely different than both of them. Like something that actually has a chance to survive a battle.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

But I got a promotion.

Yay for promotions!!!

By what standards? An Assault Clan Omni Battlemech?
When you go past a couple of million you might as well buy a battlemech.

I submit that for a 200 ton vehicle, 12,885,278 C-Bills is pretty cheap for cost. There are plenty of units which are cheaper or more expensive than the Gaussinator. Just to give everyone a little perspective on a few of the ones which cost about as much or more. A Clan 45 ton Ice Ferret (Fenris) C OmniMech costs the equivalent of 12,737,252 C-Bills and a Clan 55 ton Stormcrow (Ryoken) Prime OmniMech costs the equivalent of 14,771,112 C-Bills. Heck, even a 55 ton Inner Sphere Men Shen MS1-O OmniMech costs 16,628,594 C-Bills and a 75 ton Padilla Heavy Artillery tank costs 14,794,500 C-Bills. So what you think is too much and what the Battletech Universe thinks is too much appears to be different...

For 12 million C-Bills, incredible frustration among maintenance crews, overcomplicated logistics on transportation via dropships, and slowing your army to a crawl, you can have a super tank today!
Yeah not buying it. *badum tish*

So I'm not supposed to reply to comments made to my posts or do so with "x" time frame? Or do you simply not like super heavy vehicles? I like super heavy vehicles and if I choose to post in those entries and/or make new ones, I will

In which case, since there is no problem with necrobumping stuff, I shall bump my own designs until it is eventually obliterated by an omnipotent being or someone just gets pissed that I'm bumping my designs so much.
