Overview:
"Tonight on TOP MECH !"

"Brian throws a rock at a Quickdraw. Harlan crashes a LAM, -again- and I try to
stay awake."

Capabilities:
"Sometimes you come across a truly unique mech, something that awakes the
senses, makes the juices flow, catches your eye like an AC/20 shell catches a
cow, but this neither of those. The Tirailleur, ancient French for "mediocre at
best" is a committee design, built from the most commonly available parts,
lumped together without any regard and sold cheaply by men wearing raincoats
who accost you from a side alley and call you "guv'na".

"Yes, but you ask, is it actually bad ? And the answer is quite simply -no-,
it's not great, not even good, but it works. And if that is your ticket, by
all means check it out, if you don't have anything important to do instead,
like brain surgery or filling out a crossword puzzle or brushing your hair."

"You're thinking, I'm being unfair to this mech, it has the trusted LB-10X
autocannon which has been in service since those heady days of the Star League
and a Snub-nose PPC which hasn't. In addition it has two ER Medium Lasers,
they didn't have those in the SLDF back then and it has the nifty MML-9 which
shoots both short and long range rockets. Not a bad package all things
considered. It doesn't have a fancy XL-engine which in this kind of situation
is a good thing, yes you heard it right, me Jeffrey Craigson likes a mech
without an XL-engine ? Has the Inner Sphere gone mad ? No, because if you want
a cheap mech, a big costly XL-Engine is not a good investment and because this
mech will be right in the front line fighting toe to toe with the enemy, it
better not have any extra weaknesses. The drawback is that it does take
forever to get somewhere ...

*feigns falling asleep at the controls then wakes up on a different planet*

It has all the standard trimmings, CASE, the armour is quite good, all 12 tons
of it, it's not ferro fibrous, but it is cheap and remember the Tiralleur is
meant to be cheap and easy, and it's easier than those girls at the PPC and
Autocannon ..."

Battle History:
"So, Jeffrey, you didn't like it ?"

"Harlan, I grew somewhat fond of it, but I'd rather have a Mad Cat II"

"Yes, but a Mad Cat II will set you back 24 million, this one is four times
cheaper."

"Figured somebody like you would like it."

"Yes I do, it's solid, reliable, it can handle most combat jobs, and does what
the sticker says."'

"Of course you like it, you're short."

"Oh no, not that again."

"But now we must hand over the Tiralleur to our Tame Mechwarrior, some say he
has a tattoo of Natasha Kerensky somewhere inside his body, and some say he can
pick up HPG signals, all we know is that's he's called the Gist ..."
