Priming
      #17029 - 10/13/01 01:58 PM (24.189.252.173)

Greetings

I just got my first batch of unpainted miniatures. Some are plastic, some metal. What types of paints are best for priming / blackwash plastic and metal (pewter)?

I'm not too sure if this is what you mean, but in any model store or Mal-Mart (R) you can buy Testor model paint. It is oil based and I believe there are bottles of primers (or gloss, I forget which it is I've seen). Hope this helps, if not I'm sorry.

Use enamel paints, testors is good. When you are ready to black wash DO NOT USE THE TESTORS PAINT THINNER!!!(it cost me several hours of hard work) It will strip off the paint job you just finished. Instead go to a hardware store and buy a quart of paint thinner like for house paints and make sure it feels oily when you rub it between your fingers. Whey you apply your black wash or inkwash to your mech you will be amazed!
