I wasn't too sure where to go with the Galleon Light Tank.

It just seemed so... bad.

I started out with a SFE and made it experimental tech, that way I could get reflective armor. I figured this tank really needed it as the most likely weapons to touch it are pulse lasers. Still, I only got 6.5 tons of it since I elected to speed it up to 7/11. I stuck with the original GAL-100's configuration and "pulsified" everything. With the X-Pulse laser and the SPLs, it worked out just well enough to still feel like a Galleon. Oh, and I got a targeting computer on it at a bargain tonnage-wise.

The galleon tank has always seemed to be a piece of garbage.

Most people I know, thought the same thing and used it as fodder. Something to absorb some damage before it died.

How are pulse lasers the only thing to touch as you say this tank? What kind of game are you playing cause it's not Battletech.

I said most likely. It's fast, and as speed is it's key and the most natural counter is an accurate weapon, which is most likely to be a pulse laser of some sort.

Yes it is fast but not enough to warrant anything special and given that, again, the to hit chart favors this losing that speed pretty fast with one or two hits to the side, yeah more things then lasers will be hitting this at ALL ranges, so the reflective armor is wasted on this vehicle. Better use of it would be on hovercraft.

It's almost as fast as most hovercraft and also sports a motive system nowhere near as vulnerable as hovercraft. So the reflective armor is not wasted.

It was wasted, reactive armor would have been a much better and wiser choice.

Bullcrap, it does nothing to the most likely killer of it, pulse lasers.

Again I am not sure what game you are playing but it's not BT. Pulse laser are not the only thing that will kill this tank even with it's speed, and given that 99% of us are not going to play on an open terrain-less void the speed doesn't really do the Galleon that much good.

I never said it isn't the only weapon that can, but they are, or were, the best ones.

I will agree with Retry a X large pules laser with a targeting computer would have the best chance of hitting this.

Now does that make it worth having reflective armor I am not sure on that.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

I was a Major *pain* before
But I got a promotion.
I am now a General *pain*
Yay for promotions!!!

Because even the LXPL is limited in range.
