sounds more like a suicide unit. Fires up and hope you don't have it hit yourself.
Might be better to come up with anti mech pods for vehicles instead. or explosive reactive armor the blows the mechs legs out from under it. or pushes it over.

Making SRMs much bigger than our current ones will make them more munchy.

How so Retry? How is a SRM-8 going to make anything munchy? When we have as listed in the weapons tables a Nail Gun for mechs or mechs running around with chain saws on them or mechs running around the battlefields using load-lifting arms as weapons, please tell us how a SRM-8 is going to be munchy?

The bigger the launcher, the more effective artIV and V becomes.
Imagine a clan SRM20 weighing 5 tons connected to ArtV on a tank for a total of 6.5 tons.

Did I say anything about an SRM20? NO. Did I mention Clan tech? NO. So, what I said was how about an SRM-8 or an MRM-8? Those would be Inner Sphere weapons not Clan. Just because the Inner Sphere makes something doesn't mean the Clans have to copy it or vise versa.

Retry, let me try this, not everyone is going to min/max things. So not everyone is going to use ArtIV with their missiles just because they can. Just because you like to min/max things doesn't mean others do, again you would find this out if you played the game against real people and saw a wider variety of playing styles.

An srm 20 would be the bane of the hardened armor. It would strip it quickly as well as possibly create more internal crits faster. It would become the new lbx problem. Might possibly take out infantry faster, but not sure if they screwed that up as well.

Normal SRM4s do a good job messing up infantry already.

Maybe come up with an emp pulse that shuts down a mech when it gets in the same hex as a vehicle.

I know thread jacking is inevitable, I am far from being innocent from doing it, but I would have thought there would be at least one comment about the original subject posted before the thread was highjacked.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

To you that is quite understandable. Your system of playing is using the most powerful and advanced technology available to any power.
I like thinking of the under dog. That guy that has to scrape up something no matter how totally unimpressive it might be to be able to defend his self and home. That's the whole reason behind Assinine Industries. Not to build that next fancy toy for the superpowers but for the small guy that just wants something that is affective that he can afford to buy.
I know Cray gets it. As for anyone else... maybe some.

You say after I posted a crapton of post clan invasion IS designs that aren't much more than upgraded 3025ers with an occasional yet rare XL engine.
You only judge by my posted designs. You are off the mark.
Still not noteworthy. Quite frankly it is just a super small missile launcher. It isn't anything special.
Actually it could be a tad munchy MG replacement on vees. Way more useful than a MG when there is no INF.
