The MAD-4M can't have hands because the ERLL arm cannon gets in the way.

Is that all? Maybe the thunderbolt can't use the hands it has because they upgraded the laser to an er model. Or they put a ppc on the arm.

Or maybe the urbie can't use anything but a ac on it because it was drawn that way?
Or use a ppc or gauss rifle. or or or or because we have this on it. or that.

So if I were to put hands on a marauder, that would mean it isn't a marauder?
This is not just about this mech, but everything in general.

the crab mech would be a good argument for hands. They don't say how delicate they are, but they are used as clubs.

So is the ppc on a panther. So is the laser on a thunderbolt. The hellhound and vixen. the wolverine, battlemaster, griffin, the wraith, grim reaper, excalibur, the thug are all example of big guns in arms that have hands.

The highlander is a good example of the picture not matching the weapons loadout.

The PPC on the panther doesn't take it's PPC right in place of it's arm actuators.

And canon record sheets...

Oh FFS are we seriously arguing about Hand Actuators now?

No Canon model or variant of the Marauder has hands. I don't know about the oldest canon record sheets, but as far back as 1990 the FASA sheets showed no actuators.

I see no reason why a variant can't add or remove actuators, but I would expect an extensive fluff description of the reason for altering such a fundamental feature of a 'Mech's chassis (Omnis don't count as they have their own rules in regards to actuators). In general, if someone is posting a variant rather than an original design, if something is not described as having been changeg, assume that feature matched the original.

That said, Retry there are several free programs for designing and posting 'Mechs and Vehicles, which automatically post all the details. I use Solaris Skunkwerks or occasionally The Drawing Board. That would help answer a lot of recurring questions about your designs before they get asked, no assumptions necessary.

face it kj. You would be bored as hell to log in and find only 2 or 3 posts here instead of the war ground.

Valid as well, in a full blown alpha strike. However, it does not have significant(5+ points-ish) overheat when firing at range brackets(For example, ERLL+ACs, ERLL+ML. The SPL exists for anti-infantry purposes specifically, and the SL is more of a cheap head crit sink to protect the cockpit.)
