It's whatever you choose. Depending what you will face, you can mount one or the other. When a weapon has alternate ammunition choices, you can load whatever you want. That's the small advantage of the normal ACs and LB Xs.

Most of the other units had some dedication to it. Wasn't sure if this one was the same. Thought I would ask.

Ghostrider, you can pick what you want, IF your side has access to the ammo types, if not then you have what you have when you start. Normally slug or clusters. Since it is broken down in 1 ton lots, you would either have in the case of the LB-X one of each or all of one. Other wise you are stuck with one type with other ACs.

Standard practice in published TROs is to list ammo capacity for LBXs, not to specify the type of ammo carried because it can change in the field. The same goes for LRMs and SRMs: you don't name the ammo variant carried because the force commander or unit crews might change it at any point in the campaign.
It does have to be specified before game play begins, but even then a weapon can select from a different ton of ammo each turn.
