It is annoying when you want to comment to thread only to have them get locked because of things closing in on spam trolling. I know it is annoying to the admins that have to deal with it. Could you prod nic into making a little easier to use tools for the moderators?

and for some of the people on the border, please do not comment with..

is not

is too

is not

is too.

Until any new mod tools are in place, you've already found the alternative: start a new thread on the same topic.

Can I get one of those for work? I know a few PFCs and SPCs that would actually work when they see it being used...

geez. Cray puts up a design and it gets locked within like 6 posts.

Cray posted that one about 12 years ago.

Well, that's one way to summarize it. The other way is that "Cray posted a design in the year 2002. It got one comment from Karagin in 2002. Then Karagin worked eerie thread necromancy to revive it in 2014 and analyze its many mathematical errors that no one cared about for the intervening decade."

But if you're curious about the moderator decisions, this is one I can talk about publicly. The original poster behind the GE AH-7 VTOL made a request to the moderation team to lock down a long-dead thread. That's a request I couldn't in good conscience ignore, so I locked it.

thinking Karagin needed something new, since retry has been slow in giving him something to aruge about, and the threads are getting locked quicker.

I would figure that one would take longer since we have the theory of moderators wanting their threads to live for ever.

Wait.. An engineer that has math issues?

You're thinking of mathematicians. Since when did engineers ever need math?

let's see. the cable needed to be 25 3/5 long and we got one that was 26 feet long. So we cut 4/5th of a foot off and.. what? just weld it.

I recall a bridge in Zillwaki Michigan that someone got the math wrong on and they had to do some interesting fixes...

Actually Ghostrider wasn't trying to argue, was inputing designs to kill some time and realized there was an issue, so I asked about it, now if Cray asked Cray to lock the thread I guess that was up to Cray to get Cray to lock the thread.

so he was trying to cover up the fact that he is human and makes mistakes?

though I do agree the new programs out today make it a hell of alot easier to put a unit together and have it somewhat correct.

I wish it was that easy. My day job is mostly about trying to fix things, but making mistakes and getting chastised by a senior engineer.

So I am not the only one that thought it was kinda rude for the thread to be locked?

and a conspiracy required more people. this was more of a dictator ordeal.
