With the onset of the Dark Ages, Imperius Rex Industries set out to make a new quadruped design built around the concept of the often overlooked High Velocity Autocannons. Mounting an HVAC10 and paired Clan-spec ER Medium Lasers, the Basic variant of the Thumpy is a respectable urban fighter. In addition, jump jets allow it to take 120m leaps, while thickly mounted standard armor gives the mech good protection for its size. A MASC system allows the mech to sprint at 86.4kph for short periods of time, allowing for quick getaways from heavier machines.

I like the feel of the mech and the mixed tech, deep periphery, start of the dark ages flavor. But there's a reason hyper-velocity ACs where a dead end. For one more ton (drop a ton of ammo?) you could have a Gauss with 50% more damage and better range and for one less you could have a Ultra 10 with a little less range but more damage potential and better ammo efficiency per ton. IMO both would be better options. It's also a bit pricey for a not particularly mobile medium. That being said I respect the effort to use an oft ignored weapon.

I find it odd that the program lists the leg(arm) acutators. I would think you can not pull any out of it without screwing up the mech, so it is a waste.

it is a usable mech without alot of high tech for anything but the weaponws.

My main idea behind the HVAC/10 was screwing around with what is possibly one of the most hilariosu weapon systems ever designed. HVAC/2's are one of my favorite weapons, not for any practical reason, but because using them basically means you are always dictating range, especially on faster things(which is great fun). The use of an HVAC10 on this guy was for the lols more than anything. ^_^
