Figured this was good enough to be put in it's own thread.

So were you going for a new mech using the name Warhammer or what? Where is the SRM? This is just a miss named energy boat that could be called the Flashman part 1 for a better name and moniker.
You would never get to use even half of the weapons in any fight and really wasted a lot of useful tonnage by going hog wild with the medium lasers.

Dear golly...that's nearly as delightful as my 16 Medium Laser Rifleman. Except without the good dissapation. But still, the laserage is kinda...excessive for a Whammy.

If you use the weaponry in their respective range brackets(ERPPCs at long, MLs and SPLs at short) the machine is completely heat neutral).
Anyways, the original WHM-6D didn't have a SRM so I didn't include one... ...Ah, good catch. The WHM-6D must not be a true warhammer, as ALL true warhammers have SRM6s! Please give me the adress to whomever happens to own the franchise as of this moment so I can issue a complaint!

There is that one Whammy with the Thunderbolt 5, but aesthetically speaking, the SRM launcher looks friggin awesome.

Not a big fan of massed Medium Lasers exclusively (well, up to 4 is ok, after that I prefer to add some variety -- usually...) but I like the theory. The MLs do more damage/heat once you get inside 6 hexes, and there's no tonnagec"wasted" of the DHS needed to power them as the sinks are already there for the ERPPCs. I use much the same theory with most of my Heavy and Assault designs, and it's required on nearly all Clantech designs.
Peace is that glorious moment in history when everyone stands around reloading.

Well, I reject all of y'all's reality and substitute my own with the Sparkles.

But really, the medium lasers work much better on the design than a SRM would in this case.

Well, these are warhammers, so you are a bit out of luck. Anyways, do you agree about the medium laser point?

Well... the 8 lasers overall will strike more locations than a SRM6, or even 2 SRM4s since the lasers don't have to roll for both the hit AND cluster hits table.

ML spam is effective. But... just not fun. Kind of like (4) Clan LPLs. You'll win but it's like setting the game on easy.

I will agree with retry about the mls. If you use the weapons for the range, it can be effective, though still has issues if you volley one erppc with them. Not a big one, but enough that you would not even think of firing both together.
Using the same designator for a variant just confuses the hell out of people. I do agree that maybe Karagin should have been making it a variant of the 3r, not the d series. Granted this would make me believe he is a Davion person. Nothing wrong with that.
Now there is an easier way then using the Rifleman IIc. Add in targeting computers.
