Overview:
In 3138, the Thomlinson Armor Works branch of Imperius Rex Industries was passed an order for a series of
designs by headquarters at IRI. The buyer was unknown to Thomlinson, but the order was clear. A tracked
or wheeled artillery vehicle with multiple variants in the series, ranging from close fire support to heavy IFV's;
weighing no more than 70, but no less than 55 tons, and price was no issue. The first tank in the new "Smirnoff"
series was the SMIR-20, packing a IRWF 'Hegemon' Long Tom, 25 of the heavy 203mm shells, and 3 machine
guns for close defense against infantry. Though armor and speed are lackluster, it is a cheap and effective vehicle
for its role. The design also featured a new ammo replenishment system that started to become standard on IRI
produced artillery vehicles after 3136; this improved system allowed ammo carriers to "hot-load" racks of
Long Tom shells into a feed that runs straight to the breech, meaning that internal stores of munitions can be
saved for heavy fighting where mobility is a neccesity or extra munitions are unavailable.
Impressed by the vehicle, the mysterious buyer commissioned Thomlinson to produce a large number of other variants.

Overview:
After the basic Smirnoff, the obvious next step was to produce an Arrow IV equipped version of the vehicle.
Though more than doubling the cost, the Arrow IV SMIR-22 features 35 175mm missiles, as opposed to the
SMIR-20's 25 Long Tom shells. In addition, the weight saved upgrades the MG's to MagShots, and adds another.
An Angel ECM, backed by three LAMS allow this artillery truck to survive otherwise crippling LRM and SRM attacks.
Finally, a 4.5 ton infantry bay means that the vehicle can deploy a squad of battle armor, or several squads of
foot troops to protect the artillery vehicle from hostile raiders. When operating in Lance or Company formations,
this tactic is especially devastating.

Overview:
Though not exactly an "artillery" vehicle, the SMIR-25 features a deadly array of twin ELRM-15's, giving it
impressive striking distance with missile firepower. Capable of pounding hostile forces well over a kilometer
off with 30 50mm HEAP missiles every 10 seconds, and with enough ammo to fire continuously for 4 minutes
without resupply, the SMIR-25 is deadly indeed. MagShots and standard AMS systems provide protection from
hostile forces, though armor remains the same as the SMIR-20. A common refit of the SMIR-25, known as the
SMIR-26, removes the side MagShots and one ton of ammo, and adds an additional two tons of armor in case the
close fire support missions become too close.

Overview:
Designed to fulfill the role of open-field fire support, this model of the Smirnoff has only an infantry squad
that it carries internally for protection, making it very vulnerable to enemies at close quarters. Regardless,
its a cheap way to deploy a pair of Gauss Rifles and large ammo reserves for them to the field.

Overview:
Taking the concept of the Arrow IV SMIR-22 to the max, the SMIR-300 fields not just 25 rounds
for the launcher, but can carry a BA squad AND an infantry platoon, protects itself with four MagShots,
and features Light PPC's for a ranged punch. A C3 Computer rounds out the design, allowing it to operate
as a deadly unit when close combat is joined when commanded by a SMIR-300MAS. But the biggest changes
are an upgrade to a Light Fusion Engine and Hardened Armor, turning these artillery vehicles into a deadly
surprise for any skirmishing mechs or tanks who think the hostile artillery support will be an easy target
to engage and destroy.

Overview:
The Smirnoff was modified once again, this time to a brutal urban defense vehicle. An LBX20
backed by three Small Pulse Lasers makes for an excellent fight against any hostile; a TAG allows
the tank to spot for its brother Smirnoffs in the Arrow IV role; AECM and a BHP allow the tank to
hunt enemies quite well, and lastly, a Targeting Computer allows the tank to be deadly accurate.
A squad of battle armor or platoon of infantry can be carried internally to help ward off hostile
anti-tank infantry or light vehicles, or to engage specific targets in close combat.
