Overview:
After the successful production of the Abrams by Thomlinson, they set out on an
endeavour to make a tank that would be equipped with new tech, but at the same
time be even cheaper than the Abrams while filling the same role. When the
first T-80BV entered combat trials, several mercenary units, including the
Northwind Highlanders, showed an interest in the oddly tonnaged vehicle.
Despite the awkward arrangement of weighing in at 46 tons, which Thomlinson
insisted was a necessary modification due to a bizarre incident when the 45 ton
prototype completely broke down as soon as it was started up(repeatedly). After
appeasing the machine spirits when a strange man with a thick accent, fabulous
facial hair, and ridiculous number of awards that included red stars came
riding into the Thomlinson headquarters on a bear and declared that the T-80 must weigh
46 tons to work. No one questioned him, but his advice worked. A Light Gauss
Rifle strikes at range, and unlike the Abrams uses an autoloader. Twin MagShots
allow for deadly anti-personnel use, and twin (iOS)SRM2's allow the tank to
nastily surprise hostiles who decide to close.

46 tons? Makes it difficult to figure out what the components are weigh.
Looks like the figures are right, though this is really strange. Well atleast according to what's there. I don't have any information on the ios stuff.

Nice fluff to go with it though.

Remember vehicles can be any tonnage not just in sets of 5.

yeah, it throws me off when they aren't in lots of 5.
I looks like it works, so that is the key there. I was thinking the other ton might be the starter, like indy uses.

Actually its because the actual T-80 is 46 tons, so I decided to fluff that in...with an angry Russian.

50 ton tank, 4 ton infantry bay. BANG! Done, explains it and fits in easier without wasting tonnage since vehicles can only be built in units of 5 tons but you don't need to use the entire tonnage....50 ton vehicle with only 30 tons of gear/armor ect still = 50 ton vehicle by BT standards, not like you can exceed 50 ton (say its a hovercraft) cause the rules will max it out at 50 regardless and being empty doesn't give it a bonus to speed...infantry/cargo bay is empty space if you don't use it, while still having a use and fitting inside the rules but can be empty now.

They claim to have fixed things with Support vehicle rules, and in my opinion all they did was add more chaos to things. The writers and their play-tester have no idea how military vehicle work and should have done more research before they wrote them, but wait as we keep getting told it's all about game balance, cause really allowing vehicles to be flexible in the same areas that mechs are means some how mechs lose and thus ends the game as we know it.

Even if vehicles could get DHS and Endo Steel, the criticals alone are enough to keep them balanced...

I wouldn't mind Endo steel in vehicles and a lighter IC engine along with several other things.
