Overview:
Imperius Rex was horrified at the devastating Gray Monday attacks, and quickly set out to prevent their
communications from being cut so easily and quickly. A full company of the Informer 80-80 were spread
out between ten different IRI and CDMC affiliated units, allowing HPG communication to remain mostly
steady even in the event of the primary HPG's being destroyed. Reportedly another half-company are in
the shop, awaiting their hard-to-manufacture GMHPG's. Despite literally astronomical costs, IRI is dead-set
on producing these as much as possible. It is as yet unknown HOW they acquired this technology, but it
certainly warrants further looking into. Maybe the company's origins in the escaped Clan Wolverine holds
far more water than we previously thought. Even worse is the repurcussions of another industrial giant
being able to produce HPG's. As far as we previously knew, they were incredibly difficult to manufacture
except by our own methods, and even then the process can take a decade in some cases. We NEED at least
three more ROM agents on An Innis and Manadh Rois within the next two months, and six within the year.

Overview:
With the production of the Informer 80-80, IRI needed a mech designed
specifically to protect their dedicated HPG carrier. 8 BILLION C-Bills as a price tag
for the Informer meant that whatever the escort was, it must be top-of-the-line,
and cost would be no issue. A Clan RAC/2 and twin Clan Large Pulse Lasers
provide the main punch against hostile forces, while twin Small Pulse Lasers
and three Micro Pulse Lasers will carve up enemy infantry with ease. Capable of
moving at 86.4kph, the Guardian Angel also features heavily slabbed on
Ferro-Fibrous armor, giving it a good combat endurance. Even with the
Guardian Angel's excellent base of weaponry, IRI felt the need for something heavier,
for a last resort in case the Guardian Angel's were destroyed. This effort led to
the Balaur Assault Quad.

Overview:
Designed as the last resort for protecting the Informer 80-80, the Balaur is a
nightmare of a quad. Physically resembling a massive version of the Boggart,
the Balaur is sheathed in 34 tons of Imperius Rex Protection Systems Hardened
Armor, making it an absolute pain to destroy. A Clan RAC/2 provides long range
reach, while intermediate ranges are covered by a terrifying Improved Heavy
Laser mounted in a turret. Twin Micro Pulse Lasers on each front leg
discourage infantry attack, and twin center torso Medium Pulse Lasers provide
an accurate punch versus all hostiles. All weapons are guided by a Clan-Spec
Targeting Computer, and the Balaur makes use of a standard fusion reactor to
provide even more durability. 17 Double Heat Sinks keep the mech chilled, and
Clan CASE prevents crippling explosions.

I made one of these once. Except I used 2 HPGs. No weapons.

Interesting build. I've been curious how an HPG carrier works out.

They're certainly a weird thing to work with. A very heavy GMHPG that takes up 12 slots and 18 tons is nothing to scoff at when building a mech. The cost especially...is very high. Which is why my build of it uses hardened armor so that its basically a bunker with legs

My bunker with legs is better than your bunker with legs. My bunker has stealth
Of course i my bunker doesn't have a HPG. But it's still a better bunker.

More relevant. The Hardened armor is in hindsight an even better decision than it looks like on the surface. Those pesky TC missiles and Armor-Piercing Warheads won't get free crits on you making the HPG a huge puddle of.... HPG stuff?

Yes, that was one of the reasons I selected the delightful hardened armor.
