Overview:
The JMInc. design team is always up or a challenge, particularly when the
challenge involves going completely against conventional wisdom. In this case,
the conventional widsom is that Stealth systems work best with slow units, as a
high rate of movement negates the effects.

JMInc. looked at it differently. Fast speed = better positioning, Stealth =
safety when standing still. In addition, having the mobility to ride the
"sweet spot", those ideal speeds where the combination of speed and stealth is
actually greater than either alone makes the unit even stronger defensively.

Next question: what is the best use for a Stealth unit? Scouting and Spotting
come to mind, but in those capacities the electronics-cancelling effect of the
Stealth systems are quite limiting.

Still, the team felt up to the challenge. Mass was set at 40 tons for a good
combination of speed and size; Void Signature System, upgraded with the Angel
ECM Suite for best results. A 280 XL Engine for excellent speed, full jump
capability. Next, the addition of the two "Spotter" systems allowed by the
VSS: TAG and a Narc Launcher.

Finally, a mix of Lasers provide moderate offensive capability, and the
remaining space was used to add a TSM enhancement, making use of the VSS's high
heat output.

Variants:
While no production variants exist for the Whisper, the original -8H model used
Composite Structure, reduced the engine rating to a 200XL, and dropped most of
the offensive weapons in avour of the increased protection of Hardened Armour.
However, the result was deemed too slow to perform its intended function, and
was dropped in favour of the -8P.

MY BLURB:
After reviewing Retry's lumbering VSS Monstrosities, I decided to see if the system could be used for something other than building an indestructible mobile turret. Protecting a scout/spotter that needed to maintain position rather than keep mobile to stay alive seemed like a good use. Let me know how well you think it will work.

I take it the narc is to 'spot' for other units.
Though I do question the case since the narc pods don't explode to my knowledge.

One suggestion that might make this more of a pop up and run unit. I hate quads, but this might be a good unit to make into one.
Hunker down to help avoid detection, then hit and run.

One more suggestion. Since this is a spotter, would it not make sense to have a probe on it as well?

Sorry. Starting to sound like the ostscout upgrade.

Wasn't sure whether the Narc pods exploded or not. If nor, I can drop the CASE for extra armour, or downgrade the ECM to a Guardian and add an ERML.

The probe makes sense as well...although the TAG and Narc make it more of a spotter than a scout. Plenty of options when it comes to freeing space for the probe.

There are explosive NARC variant munitions.

I was under the impression the narc launcher itself used homing beacon pods. Maybe there is explosive variants that the launcher uses. I am assuming this mech would not be using them as it is a spotter unit.

Now one more suggestion. Given the time period, a c3 slave might be a good idea. I believe it also functions as a tag as well as the normal operations. It is possible that is only the master, but am too lazy to check right now. Granted, not sure if the ecm will allow the c3 to work or not.

I know the electronics makes it expensive, so it is up to the seller to decide what to put on it.
