Overview:
Believed to be the single most produced military vehicle of all time, the Light
Infantry Combat Vehicle is a standard infantry transport first produced in
2575. Licensed for production on thousands of worlds, it was copied,
re-licensed and re-copied.

Capabilities:
The LICV fits into the "battlefield taxi" concept of getting troops close to
the fighting area and provide some measure of support if required, without
getting stuck into protracted engagements.

The B-610 is one of the most recent versions still produced by the Original
Manufacturer, Ares Technologies.

The LICV has a pentagonal cross-section, giving good ballistic protection,
while the v-shaped lower hull and high ride is resistant to mines and IED's.

The multifuel engine gives it exellent autonomy and speed up to 96 kph on
roads.

The finish is somewhat spartan, but adequate for its mission type. The driver
has good visibility through periscopes and external sensors and cameras, while
the commander controls the turret. A full communications set and battlefield
integration comes as standard, allowing the LICV to plug into GPS, battlefield
data sharing and a spotting laser allows the LICV to designate targets quickly
and effectively.

The armament is designed to give the infantry adequate support with a
machinegun, backed up by a pair of rocket launchers that can damage or even
cripple most light targets.

The armour is designed to survive a single frontal AC/20 hit and gauss rifle
hits from the side.

The LICV is not designed to be fully amphibious, but it can cross rivers and
calm waters thanks to some floatation aids built into the hull.

The B-610 is one of the most recent versions still produced by the Original
Manufacturer, Ares Technologies.

Battle History:
The LICV has seen service in hundreds of thousands of engagements in its
five-hundred year history. It is believed that little over ten million LICV
have been produced about a quarter of which are still in service today and
factories across known space still churn them out daily.

Deployment:
Though produced by the Terran Hegemony, the LICV was never officially adopted
by the SLDF, though some vehicles were captured from enemy forces and put into
limited service, often for garrison and security duties.

By 3140 the LICV is found across the Inner Sphere, the periphery and even Clan
space, where several Clans use either captured or even produce their own
version.

Variants:
Hundreds of variants are known to exist, command, ambulance, observation,
recon, battlefield extraction, mortar carrier, SWAT vehicle, ICV, Mobile HQ,
VIP high security transport, Riot control, fire-fighting, exploration and
infiltration variants have been made at some point or another.

Notable 'Mechs & MechWarriors:
"Topenga" This vehicle was modified into a tank destroyer in the 3050's when
the Chaos March was a conflict zone. The crew modified the vehicle to carry an
autocannon/2 installed inside the infantry bay, sticking out from the front.
Using hit and run tactics they were able to snipe away at enemy targets and
wreaking havoc against soft-skinned targets. Topenga is known to have survived
at least until 3070, after which the vehicle was presumed destroyed.

"Old Blood and Guts" Said to be the oldest LICV still in service it has been
rebuilt so many times that very few original parts still remain, yet this LICV
still soldiers on with the Styk planetary guard.

Why use a CASE? If your get a crit that will set off the MG ammo your armor is gone anyways and there is little of the tank left to worry about.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

I was a Major *pain* before
But I got a promotion.
I am now a General *pain*
Yay for promotions!!!

I added it to protect the infantry inside. Just add another half ton of armour if you prefer.
