------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ==Overview:== Norse-Storm Battlemechs, Inc. set about designing and manufacturing an assault class battlemech once its licensing agreement to produce the Devastator had run out. The Eradicator ERD-1A owes much of its design to the Devastator and Norse-Storm's other successful mech, the Thunder Hawk.
==Capabilities:== The Eradicator is powered by a 300 Vlar XL engine, able to power the massive machine up to 54 km/h. Its frame mounts 19 tons of armor, allowing it to withstand massive punishment. Despite high praise from Mechwarriors who pilot the Eradicator, a meager 12 double heatsinks are easily overwhelmed if care is not taken to control weapons fire.
Following the philosiphy of its brothers, the Eradicator utilizes long range weaponry to soften or cripple and destroy other units before advancing into close range. The Eradicator's primary weapon is a Norse-Storm Model 7D Gauss Rifle, capable of removing nearly a ton of armor and producing very little heat. A General Motors Nova-5 Ultra AC/5, capable of increased rapid fire, is mounted in the left torso but is only supplied with one ton of 20 rounds of ammunition. A Holly LRM 15 equipped with Artemis IV FCS is mounted high on the right torso to provide direct or indirect missile fire. A Holly SRM-4 is mounted in the center torso to provide close range defense. CASE is installed in the side torso to protect from ammo explosions and a MainFire Point Defense Anti-Missile System mounted in the head protects against incoming missiles.
Despite requiring such a massive, logisitical nightmare of fielding such ammo dependent weaponry, the Eradicator is equipped with a blistering array of energy weapon to further increase battlefield endurance. A Victory Nickel Alloy ER Large Laser and two Defiance B3M Medium Lasers are mounted in the left arm, while a single Defiance P5M Medium Pulse Lasers located in each of the right and left torso provide accurate fire.
==Variants:== Norse-Storm produces a retrograde variant of the Eradicator to increase sales to buyers with a lower budget. The ERD-2A repaces the XL engine with a standard 300 Vlar engine and downgrading the Gauss Rifle to a standard class 10 autocannon and Ultra-5 to a class 5. The advanced lasers are replaced with standard variants of the same caliber and the LRM-15 is reduced to a -10 supplied with one ton of ammo. The AMS is removed. The only advanced tech found on this variant is the CASE system and double heatsinks, which has been increased to 14.
Despite the slightly higher sales of the ERD-1A, more units of ERD-2A are sold and Norse-Storm is considering stopping production of the ERD-1A in favor of the quicker production of the ERD-2A.

I like it, low heat mix, good ranged capability. Bit of an eclectic mix of weaponry, reminds me a little bit of the Grand Titan.

Thanks. I designed it trying to follow the theme of mechs such as the Thunder hawk, Devastator, and Pillager which has heavy tonnage devoted to weapons with very small heatsink arrays, designed with flexibility in mind rather then high damage focused weapons. It came out very well.
