The Star League completed the Dominator class Jumpship in 2760 as a lower cost alternative to a Warship. As Jumpships cannot maneuver like Warships, the design uses the primary weapons platform of Capital Missiles. When firing Capital Missiles at bearings only, the ship can fire at extended ranges without the risk of exposing itself to return fire. Anti-fighter and Point Defense weaponry help protect the ship in the event it has to defend itself before making its hyperspace jump. The primary mission of the Dominator was to jump in to a system, fire a barrage of missiles at the enemy (preferably bearings only) and then jump out quickly before the enemy had a chance to retaliate. The drawbacks of the Dominator are its limited endurance and damage capability. Some have speculated that some of the missile warheads have nuclear capability which would greatly increase its lethality. Only limited numbers of the Jumpship were produced before the fall of the Star League. Given its specialized construction, any of the ships not destroyed were likely scavenged for parts.

I'm fine with the ship, but I'm not buying the intended role. Its popgun armament wouldn't make it a threat during the Star League era.
However, it would deter light (non-WarShip) raiders from convoys. This would be a godsend during the early Succession Wars, especially the Second Succession War when WarShips were thin on the ground but the Houses were still hot to attack JumpShips.
