I was watching NGNGtv on twitch.tv on Tuesday (22 July 2014) and the host "Alexandus" mentioned the MW4 Vengeance into. He thought that the Mech piloted by Sigma leader was a Clan Vulture (Mad Dog). I had always assumed that it was a Avatar due to the two medium lasers mounted on the center torso. Since the game and the design are not canon, I came up with this design based on what I saw in the intro video.

BattleMech Technical Readout

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The Combine victory on Luthien in December of 3051 also won the DCMS
numerous damaged Clan OmniMechs, many of which ended up at Luthien Armor Works
for technical evaluation. The DCMS also elected to field some of the captured
Clan 'Mechs, but soon discovered that units composed of Clan OmniMechs were
excessively prone to problems and breakdowns because the DCMS lacked the
technological expertise to maintain the complex Clan machines. Within two or
three months, most DCMS units equipped with captured OmniMechs reported at
least 50 percent of their 'Mechs unavailable for combat because of equipment
failures.
The DCMS turned to Luthien Armor Works for a solution. The engineering
team chose to rebuild the captured Clan 'Mechs using only those components
that the DCMS could maintain and selected several captured Vultures for the
first attempt. The engineers kept the Vulture's leg design, but replaced the
engine. That change required them to redesign the 'Mech's upper torso to fit
the bulkier Inner Sphere engine. The designers also reworked other components,
and eventually christened their new 'Mech the Avatar.

==Capabilities:==
The Avatar fills the traditional role played by heavy 'Mechs in the
Combine's new OmniMech force. Though slightly slower than its likely Clan
opponents, it is better armored and its weapons bays are 25 percent bigger.
Though the Inner Sphere weapons it carries are less capable than their Clan
counterparts, the Avatar still has a slight firepower advantage over most Clan
heavy 'Mechs.
The Avatar has two fixed medium lasers, an unusual configuration. The fire
control systems of the weapons pod in the first prototypes was prone to short
out at inopportune times, and so the designers elected to give the 'Mech a set
of hardwired lasers that the pilot could use in self defense if the weapons
pod shorted out in combat. The fire control glitch was resolved in the
production models, but the fixed lasers were never removed.

==Battle History:==
The only surviving footage from the defence of Dresari royal palace on
Kentares IV shows mechwarrior known only as "Sigma leader" piloting a unique
variant of the AV1-O Avatar. This design has since been designated the
AV1-O-K4.

==Notable 'Mechs & MechWarriors:==
A mechwarrior known only as "Sigma leader".

==Deployment==
The Avatar is currently being deployed in DCMS heavy 'Mech lances along
the Clan border, and has also appeared in limited numbers with Com Star and
Lyran Alliance forces.

The intro 'Mech is kinda weird, because it has the torso of a Vulture but the legs of a Mad Cat Mk II. I'd say it's just a modified Vulture, not an Avatar, because of the chin turret, and the torso section looking identical to that of the vulture in-game.

The Avatar is an Inner Sphere knockoff of the Clan Mad Dog which explains the similarity. It's ten tons heavier and made with a bulkier Inner Sphere XL engine. The pictures of the Mad Dog I've seen always seemed to suggest a thinner torso than was depicted. Also, the Mechs blocky, less rounded, appearance argues for an I.S. design. Coincidentally, this 'Mech in question is my picture; If you look at the in-game Vulture, it is nearly exactly the same except the legs. They don't even have Avatar's in that game (MW3 does though). In MW4 they changed the look of many 'Mechs, usually to the disdain of older players. For example, the Mad Cat's and Vulture's arms are simplified and things are more polygon-centric, because graphics could only go so far back then.

EDIT: Here's what the MW4 Version looks like for reference: http://www.sarna.net/forums/showthreaded.php/Cat/0/Number/174966/page/0/vc/1
