Overview: A limited refit of the classic PXH-1 Phoenix Hawk, the 1E uses only a few high-tech components. Intended as a "Sniper" or "Ambush" unit, the biggest change is the replacement of the Large Laser with a Light PPC. Although the new weapon has a lighter punch than the original, it has greater range, and the addition of a Capacitor allows it to hit much harder against targets of opportunity. With the upgrade to Light Ferro Fibrous Armour and the elimination of some surplus Machine Gun ammo, enough tonnage is saved to add a Targeting Computer, making the LPPC even more dangerous.
Finally, the upgrade to Double Heat Sinks lessen the PXH's notorious heat problem.

MY BLURB: Unlike my usual "complete overhaul", I decided to keep the changes to a minimum on this one. I could have used Endo Steel and XL Engine to add more weapons (to make more efficient use of the 2-ton TC), even upgraded to Standard or Heavy FF, but I decided to stick to minor changes.
Any thoughts on how the LPPC + Cap + TC affects overall use?

No CASE? I'd think dropping one MG or reducing half a ton of armor using standard Ferro-fiberous armor to put it in would be easy. Or just a single flamer with an extra half ton.

I wanted to keep the changes to a minimum...the MG ammo is in the CT, so CASE is pretty much pointless. If I felt like moving it, FF or HFF would save me enough tonnage. A worthwhile variant.

Not bad at all. Looks like it could be a fairly straightforward field upgrade kit for the standard PXH-1, which is cool.

Still wondering about thoughts on the LPPC vs Large Laser. Would the Capacitor + TC make it the equal of a LL or ERLL?

wish I could tell you. Don't have the stats for the capacitor. Though a tc is always nice. Other issues is not having the information like ranges of the lppc or hppc or some of the other new things like the plasma cannon and stuff.

LPPC and HPPC have the same range as the standard PPC.
LPPC is 3 tons, 2 crits, 5 dmg, 5 heat, HPPC is 10 tons, 4 crits, 15 dmg, 15 heat.
Capacitor is 1 ton, 1 crit, attaches to any PPC. Any turn the PPC is not fired, you can spend 5 heat to charge the capacitor. On the following turn, it adds 5 dmg to the PPC shot, so a LPPC would hit for 10 instead of 5.

While the average damage is less, the range curve on a light PPC is a significant advantage over a standard large laser. The ER large has an advantage over the light PPC, though, at 7/14/19 with no minimum range. That extra heat is painful, though, without doubles, and when you start mounting multiple guns.
