Overview:
Getting feedback from several sources in mercenary units throughout the Inner
Sphere, Damage, Inc. modified their Haunter design and designated it the
Haunter Mk. II.

Capabilities:
The Haunter was built on a sturdy, inexpensive, wheeled 35-ton chassis,
weighing in at the upper end of the light class of vehicles. A lightweight
155-rated Fuel Cell Engine was selected to keep costs down and to provide
speeds on a par with most modern heavy 'Mechs. Eight tons of standard armor
provided decent protection from enemy fire, and armament came in the form of
twin forward-mounted MML-7's with two tons of ammo to draw on, as well as four
turret-mounted Light MG's with a full ton of ammo for ammunition. All
ammunition bins were protected by C.A.S.E. to prevent catastrophic consequences
of ammo explosions.

Battle History:
Since this is purely a theoretical design and has not yet been produced, the
Haunter obviously has no battle history as of yet, but has performed well in
multiple roles in simulations.

Deployment:
The Haunter, at least in simulations, is often deployed in either lances of
three (nicknamed "hauntings") for patrols, or alone as part of a combined-arms
group. It seems to have performed well when used for indirect fire support,
although other designs eclipse its abilities there. Its greatest asset appears
to be its low cost, costing less than a million C-bills and providing the buyer
with good bang for their C-bill in terms of both firepower and survivability.

Variants:
Several theoretical designs for variants exist in the Damage, Inc. files,
including one that reduces speed and switches to a tracked chassis to allow
more versatility in deployment and possibly more weaponry.

Additional:
Startup company Damage, Inc., while they have not yet produced this design,
keep it in their portfolio of "possible/future products," and should they
recieve a contract, they will start producing immediately.

Interesting. That'd be hell on infantry if they ever got close.

If I did anything, I'd trim the side armor a few points to bolster the turret. The turret and front of tanks tends to get hit most often.

And try to find a way to carry more ammo. One LMG and a half ton of ammo would give you more endurance.

My favorite part is how many of the soddin' things you can field for just a few million C-bills. Less than 3 mill will give you a light lance
