Overview
A 35-ton vehicle of the rare WiGE type, the Flying Ant was built around its infantry bay, designed to transport battle armor.
A WiGE chassis, while fragile, was thought to be an ideal platform for infantry transport due to its ability to bypass broken or overgrown terrain with its flying abilities.
Capabilities
A common 165 Fusion Engine formed the core of the Flying Ant and allowed speeds of up to 130 kph. A 35-ton hull was selected, placing this vehicle in the Light class of combat vehicles, and five tons of standard armor protected it. A four-ton infantry bay allowed up to a full squad of battle armored troops or two squads of conventional infantry to be transported. Armament was sparse and designed to provide moderate supporting fire for the passengers once they disembarked--twin Streak SRM-4's with one ton of ammo, mounted in the front or nose of the vehicle, depending on what set of terminology one is using. A TAG system allowed the WiGE to spot for highly accurate Arrow IV artillery strikes, giving anyone who thought the Flying Ant and its cargo were easy prey a nasty surprise.
Variants
TT-Wib-35-P: P for "Periphery." Where Arrow IV systems are rare and Streak ammo is less easily acquired, such as on backwater Periphery worlds, often the armament of the Flying Ant is swapped for a Machine Gun with half a ton of ammo, and two SRM-6's with one ton of ammo, allowing parts to be acquired more easily by militia units and the like. An aftermarket kit is produced by Damage, Inc. for this purpose, and has proven to be quite popular among militia units and even some lesser-known mercenary units.

one request to those using remlab. Could you include what type of unit that is being presented?
It is nice to know at a glance wiether a mech is a biped or quad. Some of the vehicles are hard to tell as well...

Now is this a hover craft or a plane?
And what is a WiGE chassis/movement? Is this some sort of lam set up for a vehicle?

A suggestion would be have the TAG in a turret, but finding the weight to do that is an issue.

Look up WiGE on the wiki. It's a (fully canon) blend of hovercraft and conventional fighter. It flies!!!
