Overview
Designed as a front and second-line fire support, duelist, and generalist 'Mech, the Deschain, while slow, was incredibly powerful.
Capabilities
A 225-rated Standard Fusion Engine allowed the Deschain to keep up with the largest of heavy and assault-class 'Mechs, and was augmented by MASC for short bursts of speed that allowed it to keep up with most medium BattleMechs. 14 tons of Light Ferro-Fibrous armor provided the maximum possible amount of protection from enemy weapons, and an Endo-Steel chassis structure saved weight. Ten double heat sinks kept the 'Mech mostly cool. Armament was impressive--two powerful Gauss Rifles, one in each side torso location, with three tons of ammo to draw on, and two ER Medium Lasers in each arm. This was powerful long to medium-range weaponry, capable of tearing apart the many things faster than the Deschain.

I like it, but 3(6)/5 movement? Not so sure about that. Otherwise I think its pretty good.

3/5(6) comes from the MASC system implemented on the Deschain. Personally I think such a system would be better implemented on a 4/6 mech.

I like the design, it's an improvement on the Awesome. I do think it would be better severed by swapping out the MASC for other equipment. Four tons is a lot to get an occasional one extra MP.

For my money, more ammo, CASE, ECM/active probe or an SRM would all be a better use of the space. And if maneuverability is a big concern Jump Jets might be a better choice as well.

I can see the masc having some unexpected moves, but this isn't really a close mech. I would agree removing it and adding atleast a ton of ammo for the gauss rifle. Give both guns 16 shots each.

As for adding other electronics, that will cause the price to jump. Granted that is not saying it would not be a good idea.

Without knowing if it has hand actuators or not, I can't say if some extra short range weapons or maybe lrms would be a good thing to add. If someone would leave a message for the makers of remlab would leave them a note about it, as well as unit type like biped mech/tracked vehicle/vtol, it would be nice to know this without having to look for signs. Another thing might be nice to know where the unhidden heatsinks are and well as where the criticals are for things like endosteel and ferrous fiber.

A good design though.

It has hands, with the ER Mediums mounted guantlet-style, like Wolverine's claws.
