------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The Cyclone is one of the vehicles assigned to units that are tasked with
supressing uprisings in rear areas or in the partolling of small cities.

The vehicle first entered service with the Co-Alliance Armed Forces (CAAF) in
2815. The six wheeled design has a boat shaped hull that helps in river
crossings since this allows it to move through the water easier. The layout of
the vehicle allows the crew to maintain it well enough in the field and this
is one of it's high praise points by it's crews.

==Variants:==
The only offical variant of the Cyclone is called the Whirlwind, which
replaces the Kenka LRM 5 for a SRM 2. This variant works in conjuntion with
the Cyclone rather then a stand alone vehicle.

If it's supposed to suppress uprisings, I'd probably replace the LRM's with some magshots or MG's...Makes a bit more sense fluffwise. Also seems a bit expensive for what is, according to the fluff, not a main-line battle unit...

The LRMs can double for use with any kind of anti-crowd weapons like tear gas etc...the vehicle can be pressed into defending a city from raider etc...by the local police or militia force. Some times all it takes to stop folks from doing crazy things like rioting or attacking the local governors' place is a show of force and since to the public in general anything with tracks or a turret is a tank, and tanks are scary well you get the point.

Ooh, yeah, forgot about teargas...Maybe vehicular grenade launchers would come in handy here?

Yeah it's a cool design but to me the fluff seems a bit out of place as well. It seems better placed as some sort of rear-guard defensive unit, used to intercept and hunt down raiders and scouts. Many 3025 mediums and lights are of the same speed and I could see it doing a number on Wasps and Stingers.

If I were a rebel and all I had was some gear and 27 buddies I'd rather be fighting this unit than one of the APCs. Tracked APC is 10 tons, 6/9 with only one MG but it can tear into infantry much more effectively than the Cyclone.

As a rebel the Cyclone would also be a much jucier target thanks to its much higher price tag.
