Overview
The Super Viceroy was designed as a cheaper alternative to the Trebuchet TBT-5N during the Succession Wars. Despite being ten tons lighter and costing slightly over half as much, the Super Viceroy actually boasted slightly improved armor protection over its competitor, although its loadout was somewhat weaker.
Capabilities
A 200-rated Fusion Engine allowed the Super Viceroy to match the speed of its competitor the Trebuchet, and it was protected by eight and a half tons of armor, actually improved over the Trebuchet's seven and a half tons. An LRM-20 provided the primary ranged firepower, with two tons of ammo for two minutes of continuous fire before falling silent. Backup weapons were two Medium Lasers, which, while not as effective as the Trebuchet's three, were deemed sufficient for support. Another improvement over the Trebuchet, the Super Viceroy mounted hand actuators on both arms for superior physical attacks, although pilots were discouraged from engaging in brawling due to the 'Mech's lack of adequate secondary weapons.
Battle History
The Super Viceroy served admirably in several House militaries during the Succession Wars--not above and beyond what it was called to do, but pilots and commanders that knew its limits and how to work with them used it quite effectively.
Some Mechwarriors and Techs affectionately nicknamed it the "Archer Jr."
Deployment
The Super Viceroy was usually deployed either in a siege bombardment role or in support of light and medium lances for effective indirect fire support or suppression of enemy positions.
Variants
FSGB-40: Downgrades LRM-20 to an LRM-15 with two tons of ammo and installs five Jump Jets and a Small Laser, allowing mobility on par with a 30-ton Jenner.

I would have cut the LRM-20 into four LRM-5s with two more tons of ammo. Yes you would not get such a hard hit when it did hit but you would have four chances of hitting than with just one and you could fire for twice as long too.

Another advantage is that one crit hit wont wipe out your main weapon.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

I was a Major *pain* before
But I got a promotion.
I am now a General *pain*
Yay for promotions!!!

Another advantage would be having different munitions being fired at the same time, but that is unusual enough.

Now a 30 ton jenner? I guess that is a variant since jenners are normally 35 tons with a 7/11/3 move profile.

The comparison of the trebuchet to the original one did show a few differences, but it is comparing a 25 ton mech to a 50 ton mech.
Does that mean you think the mech is good enough to use a double the weight mech for comparing them? Must be a good 25 ton mech.

Unless you are going to wipe out cities completely, the lrm 20 may not be the best choice. Yes, it can do 20 points of damage in one volley, but crits tend to do more damage quicker then full destruction.
But that can be argued.

Whitworth with one less medium laser and less speed without the jump ability or the Treb could fire 30 missiles to your 20 with 3 medium lasers for the same speed using 3025 Tech.

Well, it has more armor than the Treb AND is cheaper, while it's faster than the Whitworth and again more heavily armored.
