The Cutthroat medium tank is a cheap yet effective tank deployed to conserve Battlemech assets in dangerous city environments. The powerplant, motive selection, and armor have all been selected based on urban environments.

The 55 ton Cutthroat uses a lightweight 200 fusion engine, allowing it's road-friendly wheeled structure to reach a respectable speed of about 65km/h. Eight and a half tons of ferro-lamellor armor was selected due to it's extremely damage-resistant properties, especially to small arms such as infantry, SRMs, and LB-X autocannons, all of which may be common in an urban environment. Almost half of the tonnage is dedicated to pod space; 23 tons provides a massive damage potential, although much of it is wasted on heat sinks or ammunition as the turret can only support 15 tons of weaponry.

The Prime configuration above is an extremely powerful close-ranged tank. A UAC-20 makes for a devastating main gun with an unmatched punch, capable of punching through the armor of most mechs the first time, or even cutting off a limb in one shot in the case of lighter mechs. A well-timed ambush of Cutthroat Primes unloading AC-20 shells into a Mech's rear is often enough to disable it without return fire. The coaxial plasma cannon isn't as impressive, but it's just as vital to the configuration, providing one of the best infantry-killing punches available to the Clans.

The base chassis of the Cutthroat has a fixed-mounted flamer and CASE implemented permanently. The base cost of an empty Cutthroat is 1.87 million C-Bills. Despite it's designation as an Urban Medium Omnitank, some variants have had some success on open battlefields.
----
A:
1x ERPPC
6x SRM4 (3 tons ammo)

The A variant has a long ranged punch with it's ERPPC main gun, while retaining a devastating short-range blow in the form of 24 SRM launchers.
----
B:
1x Plasma Cannon (2 tons ammo)
8x iATM-3 (6 tons ammo)

The B variant returns to the plasma cannon, this time as the sole gun. Most of it's firepower is provided by 24 iATM missile tubes with 6 tons of ammunition, making the Cutthroat B one of the most flexible configurations available.
----
C:
2x LRM20 w/ Artemis V (5 tons ammo)
2x ERML

The C variant can provide useful, albeit dishonorable, indirect fire tactics to gain an edge in cities. Fourty LRM tubes provides a hailstorm of deadly explosive power that can be augmented in direct confrontations by using Artemis V capable ammunition. Twin medium lasers provide an ammoless backup punch. The C loadout is often used when the Cutthroat is forced into an open-terrain situation.
----
D:
1x Sniper Artillery Cannon (5 tons ammo)
1x Angel ECM Suite
1x Active Probe

If massive collateral damage is not an issue or even desired, the D variant is the first pick. Uncommon because of the disdain for splash damage in clan warfare, the Sniper is useful for causing as much damage accurately at short range as possible.
----
E:
1x Thumper Artillery Piece (5 tons ammo)
1x Angel ECM Suite
1x Active Probe

Similarly rare, the E variant deals the same damage as the Sniper Cannon over a much longer range, but with less accuracy.
----
F:
1x Arrow IV Artillery (4 tons ammo)
1x Plasma Cannon (2 tons ammo)
1x ECM Suite
1x Active Probe

Again, a rare variant, the F variant is deployed similarly to the E variant.
----
G:
1x HAG/30 (4 tons ammo)
2x ER Flamer
1x Targeting Computer

The G variant is used as an anti-air variant. A HAG/30 connected to a targeting computer provides a long-ranged anti-aircraft reach, one which is decent at fending off ground targets as well. Two ER Flamers give a decent anti-infantry reach as backup.

I would not call 3.4 mil C-Bills cheap. That is a good amount of money and even more so for a wheeled tank.

It looks like a well thought out urban fighter.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

I was a Major *pain* before
But I got a promotion.
I am now a General *pain*
Yay for promotions!!!
