Overview
Damage, Inc. designed this 'mech to be an alternative to the fast Fireball or Clan-tech Dasher, costing less than the latter while having better range than the former, and better armor protection than either of the two.
Capabilities
A 25-ton Endo-Steel chassis, powerful 250 Light Fusion Engine, and five tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor made up the basis of the Biter. Even though it used single heat sinks, the Biter could never overheat without outside heat such as a high-temperature environment or incendiary attacks.
Armament was, for ranged attacks against hardened targets, a single Light PPC mounted in the center torso, visually appearing to be on the 'Mech's back, pointing over its head. A Small Pulse Laser was mounted in the 'Mech's "chin" for anti-infantry work.
Variants
GRB-25: Some pilots, for better damage output and critical-seeking abilities, refit the center torso mount to carry an SRM-4 and one ton of ammo rather than the Light PPC.
GRB-25-P: Similar to the GRB-25, often sighted in the periphery, uses twin RL-20's, one in the left torso and one in the right torso, in place of the GRB-25's SRM-4. However, as single heat sinks are retained, this variant is prone to overheat.
