Overview
The Colonial was designed at the height of the Star League for exploration and colonization missions.
Crew consisted of three--Pilot/captain, a copilot, and a gunner for the lasers.
Capabilities
A 39-ton fusion reactor enabled safe thrust of 3 G's, and eleven tons of standard armor provided decent protection from pirates or raiders. Ten single heat sinks meant that if all weapons were fired at once, there was potential for overheat, but as the Colonial rarely entered combat, this wasn't much of a drawback. Life support could support the lives of three crew and twelve passengers, and a sixty-ton cargo bay was also installed. Ten tons of fuel provided good travel distance. Armament consisted of a Medium Laser on front, starboard, and port sides, as well as one aft-mounted and joined by a Small Laser. A lifeboat further enhanced the odds of the passengers and crew surviving in case of emergency.
