Overview:
Rajah Mechanical Construction LLC's Triad was an attempt at combining the
abilities of three mechs into a single design. The weaponry of the Marauder,
Warhammer and Archer would be combined on a single chassis. A daunting task
even for a company that had the full benefit of the Hegemony's most advanced
technology.

Capabilities:
The Triad could not be built on a heavy chassis so the weight was bumped up to
100 tons to free up enough space and weight to mount almost every weapon
mounted on its forebearers. Even the extra 25-30 tons available would not
allow it to mount as many weapons, but it could match every configuration and
still have plenty of reserve firepower compared to the original.

The main armament was impressive, combining a pair of PPC's with twin LRM20's
the Triad could deliver a solid punch at range, augmented by an AC/5 and an
SRM6. For short ranges the Triad mounted a pair of medium and small lasers.

In order to mount such a powerful arsenal the Triad uses an XL engine, though
it's top speed barely exceeds 54kph, making it slower than either progenitor
design. It mounts near maximum armour, giving it excellent protection in
combat, far superior to that of the Warhammer and still exceeding that of the
Archer by a substantial margin.

The mech was not without flaws, the mech can work up a lot of heat quickly,
despite mounting twelve double-strength sinks. In order to save weight
designers did omit the machineguns mounted on the Warhammer and it must rely on
the SRM and lasers to engage infantry. It also lacks CASE and has only limited
ammo for most of its weapons.

Battle History:
The Triad interested the SLDF and several production runs were purchased, but
the high cost means that it remained a fringe design. A plan to upgrade the
Triad into a new, more efficient configuration was started shortly before the
Amaris Civil War. Republican forces appropriated the mothballed mechs and
turned them against the SLDF. Kerensky's own stock was relatively small and
many were used up spearheading assaults.

Deployment:
With slightly less than 800 mechs ever produced, the Triad was a rare sight in
SLDF ranks, three quarters found their way into Republic hands and production
was restarted cranking out a further 200. With less than a hundred surviving
the War, the majority were abandonned on earth and snapped up by Comstar
becoming some of their earliest mechs and their insurance policy should any
Succesor State decide to invade Terra. The Triad remained in Comstar service
until Tukayid the last ones were used up to fight the Clans.

After the Word of Blake took Terra they were able to gather a dozen or so mechs
from old stocks and repairyards. Suggestions to restart production were made,
but priorities were made for other designs and productiond did not resume
before Terra was retaken by Devlin Stone's forces.

Because of its SLDF origins and the references to iconic designs, the Triad
became a Republic of the Sphere "totem mech" and were deployed as ceremonial
guards at gouvernment buildings, embassies and other official buildings and
monuments.

Aside from the rare few posted outside the Republic when it collapsed following
Gray Monday, the vast majority of Triads remained inside the Republic after
the declaration of Fortress Republic.

Variants:
Various attempts have been made over the years to reconfigure the Triad into a
more effective configuration.

The SLDF would have removed the AC/5 in favour of a pair of medium lasers,
three extra heat sinks, CASE and extra ammo for the LRM and SRM launchers.

Blake variants would have replaced the AC/5 with a light PPC, upgrade the PPC's
to ER versions and added CASE and extra heat sinks.

The Republic version replaces the LRM's and SRM6 with Clan spec launchers,
replaces the AC/5 with an LBX5, adding extra heat sinks, CASE and upgrading the
PPC's to Heavy PPC's.

Someone had some fun
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

I was a Major *pain* before
But I got a promotion.
I am now a General *pain*
Yay for promotions!!!
