After the news reached House Kurity of the deployment by the Word of Blake of the Omega Superheavy mech, work began in secret on a prototype for a 150-ton machine. It took decades of work to produce a partially viable design. It wasn't until the first Ares was spotted that work resumed at a frantic pace. First revealed in 3145, the Dreadnought is still at a prototype stage and the final production model will probably feature alterations.

Current configuration is now the most heavily armoured and best protected mech in service today. With four Gauss Rifles backed up by a pair of ER PPCs and paired SRM6 and ER Medium Lasers to deal with close threats it can cripple an assault mech with a single volley.

Super-heavies are fun. I just evaporated a triplet of Atlases (Atlasi?) with a 200-ton design, and managed one death from above that was all sorts of mutual destruction.

Wait a 200 ton mech can jump? {shudder }. But wouldn't it be easier to just fall on the smaller mechs? Whoops, I "tripped", didn't see you underneath me.

That is what another game calls a stomp.
Though it does make me ask..
Are the jets on anything over 100 tons still 2 tons per jet?

This is the first mech I designed with Megamek as I discovered it could handle designs over 100 tons, Seems some info is missing or fell away, I had equipped the mech with 2 JJ, but they don't show up. Also the cockpit info seems wrong, but can't confirm if it's correct.

Unlike the Ares which is a really big Swiss Army Knife somewhat lacking a killer punch, the Dreadnought is a pretty straightforward sledgehammer, Big guns, lots of damage and able to stand up to the worst punishment, thanks to the lavish use of armoured components.

Been looking at it again and I get weird results : a 2/3 150 ton mech has less then 40 tons free space available ... I make a small change in the loadout and things get reset. So the above design is probably mostly invalid.

It depends a bit on what kind/ amount of armor, internal structure (endo or not) and number of heat sinks you have but a 150 ton 'Mech that moves 2/3 with a 300 XL engine should have around 65 tons to play around with...
