Why the two types of PPCs?

Basic Marauder variant. ER PPC's for long range work, snubs for mid-range targets.

Kind of makes the need of the ER Mediums redundant?

from the heat curve, it looks like you intend to fire off both sets of ppcs at once alternating them. If not, the heat scale is off. Firing in range brackets means you have way to many heat sinks.
Erppcs together is the same heat as the snubnose and ermls. 30 heat. You have 40 dissipation. Maybe drop a sink or 2 and add in another ml or 2. But I would just fire 3 ppcs with the 4th being optional at times.

The ERPPCs kind of make the snub noses redundant. The snubbies have an advantage at ranges 8 and 9, everywhere else the ERPPCs are just as good.

Well it's a kind of transition, you fire both ER's until the enemy gets close enough, then switch to ER's + Snub and then do the Snubs, ER PPC and Lasers at close range.
4 ER PPC's would be crazy, and switching to regular PPC's would make it a clone of my older Thunderstrike design.
Besides with plasma/inferno/flamers around and possible adverse planetary temperatures, having a few extra heat sinks might not be a bad idea.

Might be a thought to switch the snub nose to erll. I dislike the innersphere ones as the heat vs damage really bites.
I can see wanting to keep cool, but without anything outside the mech messing with the scale, fired in the proper volleys, 8 heat dissipation is a little excess. Firing everything, well infrared sensors might start burning out. Might be worth pulling a heat sink or two the one or two more ermls or some electronics.
Still it is a usable unit.

At mid-ranges it can fire both ER's and one snub, that's 40 heat, you can add a laser to push it a bit. Besides this is hardly the first mech that has an unusual heat distribution that has to be volley fired. ER Lasers might work as a variant, but this design is part of the ongoing exploration in PPC variant configurations.
