Work in progress, I have been trying out different weapons on this and so far nothing seems to fit, the Thumper Cannon might be the best given the surprise factor, but I am thinking for the weight a UAC or RAC might be better. As for who or what will this be used by and for, yeah not sure yet.

Thumper cannons are really fun. They get consistent targeting numbers by targeting hexes instead of targets directly, making them suprisingly good anti-recon guns. Only problem is that only the Long Tom Cannon is really worth using, having the best range and 4x the firepower of the Thumper Cannon at only twice the weight.

Not sure if you have tried it, but maybe a gauss rifle might do the trick. Well the light gauss might be.
At least if you are looking for ballistic weapons.
Maybe some missile systems of both lrm and srm, or mml/atm and make it a armed cargo hauler.
There is a lot you can do with this. Just pick an mission type and we could give you some better advice. I do think this might make a good flanking lrm carrier.

Curious on the light mg. Is the innersphere model the same weight as the normal mg?
If not, then there is a typo. If it is the same weight, then it's ok.

According to what I read it's the same weight as the normal MG, unless something has changed.

Yeah I looked into a Gauss rifle idea, then look at the Thunderbolt missiles, yeah I am still working on this one. The original ideas was for a vehicle that could snipe, but still have some punch, then I keep wanting to go the tank destroyer route.

Omni vehicle?
That would allow you to do all of them with one vehicle. Not sure about weights though.

I don't know about the innersphere light mg. I know the clans version is .25 tons. Only reason why I asked.

Another option might be trying a sniper artillery. Last I knew, it was the only tube artillery that could direct fire.
Another option might be arrow IV system. To lazy to look up weight right now.

IS is still 0.5t, just with more range IIRC.

That is what I am tracking, same weight as normal IS MG but with longer range.

If it is the same damage, might think about changing the normal mg over.
Which only now makes me realize why 2 ammo bins. Different ammo. Duh.
Why didn't anyone remind me of this?

No, damage is 1 point instead of 2.

I could have swore that any artillery piece could be used in a direct-fire capacity. Exempting, probably, Cruise Missiles.

If they haven't change it, arrow IV can have the firing unit be the designator as well. I think tag is the only way for that.

As for the tube artillery, I believe the sniper was the only one that said it could be direct fired, but that might have been in the fluff for the vehicle of the same name, so not completely sure.
Well looked it up in the compendium and masters rules. Tube artillery can be fired at onboard units, unless they changed it in the new versions. Guess I am still thinking of the original rules that came out.
