------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
Although the last examples of true LAM technology were believed to be
destroyed in the Clan Invasion, a few companies are interested in cornering
what is now an open market on the technology.

In order to capitalise on the situation, a small team of designers at Heretic
BattleMechs have, working independantly, come up with plans for what has been
dubbed the ER-4G-4L Erishkegal, after the Sumerian Queen of the Underworld.

The Erishkegal is hoped to enter the class of Heavy Scout, or even becoming a
dedicated flanking battlemech. With a cruising speed of 75.6 km/h at baseline,
and up to 118.8 km/h at run (129.6 km/h at absolute maximum), it can readily
redeploy on the evolving battlefield.

==Capabilities:==
Although still only classified as a standard BattleMech, the ER-5G-4L
Erishkegal is a marvel of modern myomer technology, given a skeleton and a
skin. The Triple Strength Myomer system is a requirement for the chassis, as
their base strength is required to flex under the massive stresses of such a
large 'Mech going at those speeds.

At 55 Tons, it is classified as a Heavy Medium Design, but sports an
operational movement profile of BattleMechs half its tonnage. Its seven Pitban
LFT-20 Jump Jets give the Erishkegal a massive 210 meter jump capability, a
feat surpassing even the light jumpers, such as the Stinger and Wasp...

Wedded onto the lightweight frame is a Defiance B3L Large laser in place of
left arm, providing rugged, reliable fire, even while moving swiftly. As
backup, a trio of Randells 'Hellbitch' class Medium Lasers - two mounted to
the upper right arm and the third mounted facing the rear in the centre torso
- provide adequate 360 degree fire support if required.

The head also contains a surprise for the unwary. Mounted just to the left of
the cockpit in a section sealed from scans is a Blue Shot 88mm Disposable
missile rack, designed to carry two Inferno Short Range Missiles. Although
with no reloads, the utility of the launcher is minimal, but can be used to
mark targets the "old fasioned" way.

The Problems inherant with the Erishkegal however are leigon - the 385 Rated
LTV XL Engine it sports are exceptionally rare, and it is believed for the
prototype that one will have to be either built by hand, or removed from a
large fusion powered vehicle and reworked...

Additionally, the partial wings and flight surfacesevident to extend the
Erishkegal's flight profile are not only unstable, but fragile, giving it an
overall protection factor of 25% of its Maximum for a BattleMech of its size
and Class.

To make up for its shortfalls, it is planned to fit the Erishkegal with both a
Guardian ECM suite, and a Beagle Active Probe to compliment its scouting
capabilities...

It is hoped that a Competant scouting MechWarrior would be able to sneak in,
grab targeting details from a distance - and at speed - using the high-power
electronics, then fade quickly into the distance at a speed that would
challenge most light mechs, and most Game MechWarriors, to keep up with.

Although still itself in the planning stage, it was hinted early that the
Erishkegal would be a potential candidate for Stealth Technology. However, the
lead designer of Heretic BattleMechs is of a decidedly Anti-Capellan nature,
and refuses to deal with any and all departments required to procure the
design specifics... The deal is moot however, as the Erishkegal itself is
still on the drawing boards, and will not be led towards testing for some
time...

==Variants:==
==OOC Designers notes==

Oh, what was I thinking... What *was* I thinking......

I figure that a 385 Rated Engine would take up a massive amount of room on a
'Mech this sort of size, so I'm not ashamed to have the XL take up a trio of
Crits in each torso... Besides, anything which has been tailored for flight
(or partial flight, in this case), is bound to be fragile... Sure, a decent
hit will blow a hole in it, but the trouble is landing that decent hit... I
Put Triple Strength Myomers on it, mainly for fluff reasons, and to drive up
the price as much as I could. It would be rare to want to increase its running
movement to 12, because lets face it, it jumps 7...

In the end, I think I've got a solid enough design, which creeps me out to no
end, because this thing should... just not exist...

An odd piece of note... The initial variant had only 6 jets, and a second rear
firing ML (and 56% armour), but its BV was an entertianing 1300 points on the
dot...

FURTHER EDIT:

Hey, what do you know, there's now an Actual Partial Wing system added to the
Game... So... ON IT GOES...

That drops the armour on the design to 25% of maximum, rathern than 60% of
Maximum... It also takes up most of the free crits, so off go 3 more
Actuators (there was one already missing)...

Really, this 'Mech is a candiate for even more advanced Technology... Switch
out the structure for Composite to get those Crits back, and then look at
FerroFibe or something like that... Maybe even a Lighter Gyro at the cost of
1 Jump Jet... Urgh.

I blame KamakaziJohnson... This 'mech was originally designed to challenge as
part of his "Pipsquawk" idea... To find a BattleMech that would actually USE
a 385 Rated Engine... His idea was a heavier design with an XXL Engine...
This was my Monstrosity...

This thing is going to be damn hard to hit. But when it gets hit, it basically
bursts into flames and explodes...

Fun times.

FINAL EDIT:

I had to Fanangle the Partial Wing on with HMPro. Costs and BVs are Off...

The Final Values are Correct (Pasted from Solaris), but the Initial Values are off...

Fast for a 55 tonner, with good jump, but I would suggest removing the srm os and using the weight for armor.
This might be a good idea incase you make a bad piloting roll. As it is, a simple fall might cripple the mech.

Another suggestion, though will increase the price, would be use double heatsinks. Then you can just and use the weapons to help discourage pursuit. Granted, the primary task it do recon and get out, and having heat dissipation would encourage someone to try to stand and fight.

There are lots of efficiencies to be picked up, which is kind of the point... I-OS instead of OS, or removing it...

I kept the Heat Dissipation where I was, so you can Spike the TSM really Quickly... I mean... Its not like you wouldn't want to "mark" a target by slamming into it with a Charge Attack at Full Speed or Nothing.... ::whistle:: But as it is, doubles are fine - they won't take any more Crits.

This is definately the design you give to the guy who's better at Piloting than Shooting... Its all about avoidance. I don't think I'd actually ever use this in a game - but that being said, it was Fun for a Design Challenge to make back in 2007, I think it was... And it was entertaining to try and update now.

ok. Don't see the tsm listed except in the fluff.. Not even under specials.
Speaking of which, did they change the rules forcing the faster heavier units to use it?
Or was that just part of the fluff?

I don't see any real use for it, since the armor on the mech is so thin, being in physical range is suicide. And if you mean to ambush someone with it, the actual rules don't really allow that without weapons fire, so it does run into a problem. Pulling heat sinks off line is in the novels, but then they have changed alot of things that I am not up to date on.

Just curious on the ideas other then just because it could be done.

Its there. Its why we're 7 [8], 11 [12]...

Crit in LA, RA, LT, RT, LL, RL.

TSM is always optional to fit, so its just Fluff for the most part... And Originally, Put TSM on it PURELY to raise the cost of the 'Mech. To overinflate it. I'm not sure about shutting down Heat Sinks - You could in the End Phase turn them on/off, but I don't have my Total Warfare nearby right now.

Consider it a Fluff Addition.

Its there under:
Cockpit, Life Supt., Sensors: 5 3.00
Triple Strength Myomer: 6 .00
Actuators: L: Sh+UA R: Sh+UA 12 .00

Also, I was thinking a Small Cockpit to add more armour... But its kind of Ironic... Putting on more armour to save you from breaking apart from falling damage.... But making falling more likely to happen in teh first place...

its a classic design piece. Maybe I'll do that later.

And yes.

It does work better as an actual LAM.

I know the tsm uses 6 crits. I just wanted to make sure that wasn't what was causing the issues with the programs not figuring things out right. Plus I think it shows the tsm in the specials area with the ecm, and prb.

The unit seems to be a larger phoenix hawk, but both arm lasers in one arm. Faster, with a rear firing weapon as well.
